“Great location and Comfortable!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 15, 2011

We spent three nights in Copenhagen at this hotel. The location was terrific, allowing us to be directly across from Tivioli Gardens yet within a beautiful walk to the city center. The hotel service was excellent and our room was very comfortable. We loved the heated floors in the bathroom during our December visit. Our room was spacious for Denmark standards and the bathroom was quite spacious (including two sinks). We requested a corner room which has wrap around windows and the visibility really gave us a sense of having even more space. also.

First, FYO: I have a preference for the Hyatt and Radisson brand, so Im usually looking for a hotel within those frames.
Im a business traveller, but this time I was lucky to have the oppurtunity to take my family(wife and 5-year-old daughter) to Copenhagen. After some research I chose Radisson Royal - and I made the right choice!

First: the location is perfect. Only 3 mins from the main train-station. The train will take you from Kastrup Airport to the main-station in 10 mins and the fare is 36 DKK for adults( approx 6 USD)
The hotel is located just across the Tivoli and only 5 mins from the main shopping street.
Just across the street is also the Tourist Information Office.

Second: This hotel fits everyone. Is is easily luxurious and comfortable enough for a business traveller, as well as quiet and romantic enough for couples. As a family-hotel I can personally reccomend the family-rooms which is spacious and have two bathrooms. My daughter approved by saying: "It is nice to stay in a room large enough that I can dance in it!"
The staff are child-friendly and are curtious and smiling.
Third: The hotel has a very good breakfast with a wide range of choices. The concierge-service is quite good, and the reception is speedy and well staffed.

I would stay here again, as a sole business traveller and with my family.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view to the Tivoli

I cannot fault this hotel at all, it is one of the cleanest hotels I have ever stayed in and at a close proximity to attractions such as Tivoli Gardens. The rooms are very spacious, quiet and comfortable and I had a great nights sleep.
The restauraunt was also excellent with stunning views of the city out the windows.

Something that isn't mentioned on many of the other reviews but really blew me away at this hotel is the gym. Whenever I travel for business I like to stay somewhere with a good gym, but often find hotel gyms somewhat lacking. The gym at this hotel is huge (it's not just for residents) and has a great range of free weights and cardio. I'll stay here whenever I return to Copenhagen for this reason alone.

Gyms aside, I would agree with most of the other reviews on here. It's 3 star by international standards - not 5 star by any stretch of the imagination. Food is good but not great, service is hit-or-miss (it took me 15 minutes to get through to room service on the phone) and while the 60s decor might be interesting, there's only so much laminated wood and lime green bubble chairs I can bear to look at in a day...

The gym is a major asset and I'd recommend it to anyone who wants to work out while traveling

I wrote a glowing review couple of years ago on this hotel. I have stayed another couple of times since and thought i had submitted a fresh review.
It is now a wireless internet hotel which frankly is rubbish. I remember last time i had to change rooms because it was so bad. After checking into the corner room everyone raves about i found again the internet was rubbish so i got a room move. Just a note to add about the fabulous corner rooms - unless you are an exhibitions or on very high floor, you have to draw the curtains everytimeyou pee.
Chipped coffee cups and crap service is just not 5 star standard to match the 60/70's decor. As a club Carlson silver (now gold) member I'd expect a wee bit better treatment. 'complimentary upgrades where available' but its not this hotels policy, no they don't follow the radisson code or guarantee satisfaction. Also wish the cold air would stop blowing even though the a/c is turned off! Don't think I'll be back...not when the Marriott is just down the road! must say breakfast is good...

Room Tip: One with good wireless internet if you need it...

From the outside the hotel looks old and dated in my opinion. Inside is very Nice and clean and scandinavian modern.
Great breakfast.
Located just oposite Tivoli-- Great if travelling with children. Five minute walk to Strøget.
Problems with elevators when we were there, 20 minute wait to Get downstairs for breakfast! And no stairs to use...:-(

Nice building and very well maintained. Also staff is great, breakfast downstairs was good. Love the herring. Problem is very weak internet and difficult if you want to do any business. They can make this a great place if they double down on the details.

Room Tip: corner is best
