I visited Tivoli at night in the winter. Most people, even Danes will tell you that Tivoli is not open in the winter. Wrong!!! It is certainly open right around Christmas, when I was in town on business. I only knew of Tivoli from a souvenir ornament in my grandparents home, as they were truly world travelers. So, much to my surprise, this place was amazingly wonderful. Like Disneyland, but more quaint and European, and was actually what Disney was modeled after, to some extent, as well as the Crazy King's castle in S. Germany with the long name. The place had remarkable attention to detail everywhere, with lights in the form of every sort of plant and cool object you could think of. The park is vast, for a city park, and has quality rides for the kids, amazingly beautiful structures that are lit up like Christmas central that look like important buildings from around the world, like the Taj Mahal, and loads of restaurants and bars along with many small, tasteful vendor stands - where you can buy lovely natural nordic stuff, like rabbit skins! & I'm a compulsive shopper! Actually looked through every rabbit fur/skin that the one great "skin" shop had to find one, that coincidentally had markings that were much alike my last Blenheim Cavalier King Charles Spaniel! It's next to me on my leather couch now! It's a big world out there - get out and see it!
