Since I was looking for a lower-priced buffet-style evening meal, I tried Ankara. Not expecting high-end food or service, I was pleasantly surprised by the friendliness of the staff and the variety of the buffet. There were lots of salads of various kinds, and even some things that children would like. The hot dishes ran the gamut from poultry to fish to meat as well as pasta, rice, etc. Each time I got up to fill a plate, by the time I returned to the table, my "dirty" plate had been removed. I found the food to be completely adequate and the variety to be interesting. I also noticed that the chef came out of the kitchen several times during my visit to check on both the quantity and the quality of what was in the buffet; apparently he wanted things to be right. They were.
Both couples and larger groups came in to eat, and one could order off the menu instead of taking the buffet. Many other options than those in the buffet were available. The place seemed to be popular with locals as well as tourists.
