Description: Since opening its doors more than 14 years ago, Ankara has become famous for its good food and modest prices. The owners, Danish couple Belgin and Marianne, have always been fascinated by Turkish cuisine, and have decided to share this passion with other diners. In addition to the food, the quality of service and entertainment is also typical of the region, and has become so popular that Ankara can now be enjoyed in two locations - in Krystalgade in central Copenhagen and in the northwestern suburb of Ballerup.

“Turkish Food in the Danish Capital”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 27, 2013

Since I was looking for a lower-priced buffet-style evening meal, I tried Ankara. Not expecting high-end food or service, I was pleasantly surprised by the friendliness of the staff and the variety of the buffet. There were lots of salads of various kinds, and even some things that children would like. The hot dishes ran the gamut from poultry to fish to meat as well as pasta, rice, etc. Each time I got up to fill a plate, by the time I returned to the table, my "dirty" plate had been removed. I found the food to be completely adequate and the variety to be interesting. I also noticed that the chef came out of the kitchen several times during my visit to check on both the quantity and the quality of what was in the buffet; apparently he wanted things to be right. They were.

Both couples and larger groups came in to eat, and one could order off the menu instead of taking the buffet. Many other options than those in the buffet were available. The place seemed to be popular with locals as well as tourists.

“Good food for a small price.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 25, 2013

The restaurant is mostly visited for their buffet. Large options of food for both vegetarian and not. They lamb, beef spaghetti and falafel. They have salads and cream potatoes. One of their waitress is very annoying like shes so lazy she doesn't even want to do her job... made my whole dining experience annoying.

“Cheap food, mediocre quality. ”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 19, 2013 via mobile

Attracted by the 59dkk price tag I found myself here for lunch with my partner. The service was brisk but courteous, the drinks (which are compulsory) seemed reasonably priced and the decor was okay but perhaps on the rundown side. It was still nice to be in a courtyard on a summer's day. The food was mediocre, a selection of chicken, pork, potatoes and quite a good salad bar. A filling, cheap and unpretentious lunch.

“you get what you pay for ”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 7, 2013 via mobile

the concept of a buffet is always great, and as this one is only 59kr (for lunch, I think 89 for dinner) it was a real bargain. the restaurant itself is also not bad, and there's a fairly nice looking courtyard where you need sit as well. however, the food is seriously average. not bad, just really... okay. edible, but in my opinion, even though Copenhagen is ridiculously expensive, you can still find better for the price. try paludans cafe not far away where the food isn't much more expensive and tastes way better, or even a sandwich from the rather expensive but also delicious bakery lagkagehuset will only cost you 49kr. there are a lot of these styles of buffets in Copenhagen, all for about 59kr, but in my opinion you can get food that actually tastes good just as cheap. true, with a buffet you can (obviously) eat tonnes, but when the food's so average you never want to eat that much anyway.
