We sat down, the waitress brought us a menu, she was friendly, then she disappeared.
While we waited, there was plenty of chance to enjoy the canal-side location, and soak in the atmosphere of the colourful historic buildings.
When food arrived, it was excellent; lots of flavour, nicely presented. We both had traditional Danish open sandwiches with herring and mackerel - great with a local beer.
But at the end of the meal, the same again: after asking for the bill for a fourth time, we went and stood by the bar until someone eventually took our money (and quite a lot of it for what we'd had). Not over-priced, but the sort of place I'd go as a treat.
