“Expensive place but friendly welcome.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 28, 2013

The redeeming feature of the hotel is the warm welcome from the chap on reception, who, seeing that we were tired and frazzled with a grumpy toddler after an awful journey let us get settled first and then pay.
Room very basic. Two long black hairs on the pillow and bed. Hopefully the cleaner's. sound insulation between rooms very bad. Probably because televisions are wall-mounted.
Price very high for what it is. I agree that it feels somewhere between a hostel and a hotel.
Can't comment on breakfast as we had to leave too early to benefit from it. I asked on check-in if we could have a breakfast bag to take away or something, but sadly not. Still had to pay for the breakfast we never had! At 795DKK, this was twice what I would pay in the UK and was only 100DKK cheaper than the Legoland hotel the night before (which had a fab breakfast!).
Be aware there are no dining facilities in the evenings - no room service, or hotel restaurant, which meant my partner had to go out foraging for a takeaway. Nice pizza from not too far away.
Reception not always staffed and seems there is no night porter. Had to sneak out of the back door due to early departure. Not sure this could be done if in a wheelchair, as we were directed to a door at the bottom of stairs.
Only just 3/5. If not for chap on reception, definite 2/5.

I had one night stay at this hotel and can not say that I was pleased at all. Can not say that the hotel was cheap having paid 105 EUR for me and two small kids, and it is outside city center. It is much more like a student dormitory or a hostel than a hotel.
I arrived at the hotel at 13.00h very tired and the receptionist told me at once that I need to wait one hour more because check inn is from 14.00 even without to ask the room maids if some room is already cleaned and he sound not very service minded.
The duvet was very warm, not according to the season and I needed to sleep without. Cushion was very higt and had pain in my neck many hours the next day. It was no ventilation in the room so you need to open the window to breathe.

However the room was clean and the breakfast was not bad.

We stayed only for one night, and it was good value for the cheap price we paid. The staff is very friendly. Breakfast is average, but more than enough. The room was a bit dark, and were in need of some refurbishment. It was, however, clean. The bathroom is what really reduces the standard, it was small, simply equipped, and really in need of some refurbishment. The water in the shower did not get warm enough. Overall the hotel suffers from being old, but the staff impressed us with their friendly approach. Could stay here again.

I have stayed at this hotel a few times and it seems to have become my preferred place to stay when visiting Aalborg. Staff is friendly and very helpful, rooms and bathrooms are fine. Love the fact they have quite a few organic items at the breakfast buffet. The wifi works well (most of the time) and there is a nice smoking lounge with TV. Free parking is available on the premises and the hotel is situated a 5 minute walk from the pedestrian shopping streets. All in all really good value for money when staying in Aalborg.

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing the parking lot at the entrance. They are quieter than those facing Nordkraft...

only stayed there 1 night. Spacious, clean and fast check-in/out.

It took us 25mins walking from the train station to this hotel, quite easy to find.

Internet is only available in the reception area.

The breakfast is quite good.

The TV is a bit far from the bed, it's hard to watch it clearly.

This is a budget hotel, but served my needs just fine. The rooms are spare but clean. Some of my colleagues were unable to get non-smoking rooms, so their rooms smelled absolutely horrible, but mine was fine. The bed was comfortable, though the pillows were very thin-- so I used two to equal one reasonable one. The breakfast was great and the staff was always very nice and very helpful. The location is in a fairly industrial looking block, but once you get outside and walk around, you'll see that it's really quite close to the beautiful, old part of Aalborg-- about a 5 minute walk. The downtown is small, so nothing is very far from this hotel-- you can walk anywhere. Regarding internet access: They have wireless internet available, but you have to pay for it by the 1/2 hour, the hour, or the day. If you do not have a laptop you're in a bad way. The hotel has one old dinosaur of a computer which they keep in the completely disgusting "smoking room". You pay the same prices to use the internet, but you're stuck in the smoky room using the dinosaur and there is no way to print anything from it.
