The restaurant/clothing store "La Dolce Vita , Fashion Café" is run by mr. Leone (chef) and Martha Elias. Mr. Leone has previously owned more clothing stores by the name of "Leandro Leone", but since the summer of 2013, the store in Odense is partly transformed into an Italian-style restaurant.
The restaurant is located in the scenic area near HC Andersen's house.
We visited the restaurant on a slow wednesday and was served by Martha. The service was like day and night. We were a party of five people but she took the orders without writing anything down. When the 3rd person ordered something different again, she pointed out that the food would arrive faster if we order similar dishes(!). Ten minutes after she took our orders, she returned to ask one of us, if it was okay she changed the ravioli to tortelloni, as the ravioli was too far away(!). Our Jewish' friend specifically ordered a dish without ham - but it arrived with ham. When the waitress was presented this, she start arguing with the chef who's fault it was. One Gnocchi dish came with the wrong sauce. The waiting time for the bill was too long as well. We wanted to slit the bill and when I asked to make a check-up calculation in the end, I was told that I was being "a little bit rude". Apart from all those absurd incidents, the service was ok.
The food was definitely above average for Italian food in Odense. The starter plates had excellent antipasti-pieces and the main courses were tasty as well. Pizza, pasta/gnocchi are reasonably priced, while meat dishes are quite expensive. The portions of pasta/gnocchi were somewhat small.
Could be that we were just very unlucky with the service on this particular day and others might have had great experiences at this place, but it's hard really to recommend this place apart from the nice food.
