Odense Zoo is located in the middle of Denmark's third largest town.
The zoo has undergone many changes over the last 20 years and is now a fantastic place to visit. The animals have large areas to wander around in (considering the zoo is in a town), and a considerable spread of animals, from small goats for the children to pat, to lions, tigers (mummy tiger has just had 2 babies), manatees, zebra etc. etc.
Speckled between all the animal enclosures are many playing areas for children, cafes for the thirsty etc. etc.
There is a public footpath that wanders beside the zoo, so walking along the path you can also risk coming head to head with one of the zoo's tigers (their enclosure is right up to the path), or lions.
After a visit to the zoo a trip to the restaurant Carlslund is highly recommended. This is situated in a wood next to the zoo.
