My wife and I visited Restaurant De La Mar with some local Danish friends, shortly after it first opened.
I had the Ceviche as a starter, which is already one of my favourite dishes anyway - the Chef certainly did a good job, very fresh selection of fish and tiger prawns withthe right balance of citrus whilst my wife had the gratinated scallops to start, she commented that the texture of the scallops were cooked exceedingly well and if the aroma was anything to go by it was good!
Whilst waiting for our main course we noted that the decor and ambiance for a new restaurant was a pleasant surprise, with both couple and groups alike adding to an overall jovial atmosphere which made us feel very at home in this quaint harbour town.
Our mains consisted of a well accomplished Tuna dish - pan fried with peruvian velvety mash and redwine glace and a saffron risotto with seafood.
This was all washed down with a rather nice chilean savignon blanc ( maybe two...!)
We shared a starter but wish we had doubled up, the chocolate mousse with seasonal fruits was superb!
All in all - when we are next in Nyborg we will definitley return. Throughly recommend.
