“Fabulous Holiday”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 6, 2014

Our stay was in the main hotel and as we normally stay in self catering accommodation we were pleasantly surprised to find there was a fridge and the air conditioning was included along with the safety deposit box. This is a hotel which we would certainly recommend. The hotel is ideally situated at bus stop 10, but beware of a very crowded bus in to town for your evening meal. Room service was 200% with beds made up daily and clean towels supplied each day. The local beach at Achlades has everything a beach lover will require including a water taxi into town well into the evening. The staff were all extremely helpful not withstanding the bar girl Vivi who is surely worth a farewell tip. The only draw back with this hotel is the lack of a late bar inside or outside but this problem is overcome by the excellent Rose Garden Taverna and bar just a short distance away. We stayed on a bed and breakfast basis and were very pleased to find that the breakfast offered a very varied menu of hot and cold choices. In short this hotel deserves above its 3 star status. Sylvia and David Wakefield

Room Tip: Make sure you stay in the main hotel and there are a lot of steps up to the bungalows.

We checked in expecting a room in the hotel but was very disappointed to be driven up to our studio high on a hill behind the hotel. (The blame was with Thomas Cook as I explained I had been having physio on my knee for 3 months, when I booked and was told we would be staying in the hotel). We walked down the 120 steps, with difficulty, and explained the situation. The hotel was fully booked but we were immediately moved down to a studio on the lower level (65 steps). The staff were very friendly and helpful, the hotel/studios very clean, beds comfortable and the breakfast excellent with a varied choice and plenty of it and delicious freshly cooked, reasonably priced meals were available during the evening in the nice bright dining room. Room service very good with clean towels every day and the Wi-Fi was spot on. The down side: The swimming pool water was a greenish colour, though staff constantly monitoring it. The shower was always nice and hot but the shower tray leaked and the floor was always flooded, also the door had dropped (subsidence?) and when opened it missed the corner of the washbasin by about quarter of an inch and went straight back onto the toilet pan. To get out of the bathroom even a slightly built person would need to go on tiptoe and turn sideways to squeeze between the door and basin. All things considered I would be happy to stay there again if I was guaranteed a room in the hotel.

Our thanks must go to the lovely family who run the hotel. We would have liked to have had a room with a view at the front as my husband is disabled but after three nights we were moved
to a bungalow on ground level near the lovely pool with a swim up bar.Hi Vivi the lovely lady
who served us drinks with a smile. The beach is only a five minutes walk away and bus stop
ten right outside. Only ten minutes to the town. Hello to Fotis the owner who made us very welcome with his home made tsipouro fire water. Lots of supermarkets and tavernas nearby.
Will be back Hi to Ranilla.
Regards Trish, the lady who tries to speak greek, with her long suffering husband Roger

Room Tip: If you are fit try a bungalow with view if not a low rise

Excellent 3-star hotel in a great location of the island run by a very nice Greek family. Excellent starting point for beautiful beaches, charming town center and the harbor, and sensational places to observe the aircraft at the airport in Skiathos! Delicious, typical Greek homemade dinner prepared by the daughter-in-Chief of the hotel. The clerk Ioanis and his brother and wife, and is an example of a typical Greek openness and kindness. We warmly greet you! :) See you there! :)

Room Tip: the best rooms are sea view

Just spent a week at the Belvedere hotel and cannot praise it enough - ALL the staff are friendly and could not do enough to make it a special stay. The family run hotel is just that, family run and of the highest value in terms of quality, service and facilities. I would go back there without hesitation . The views from the bungalows on the hill are spectacular and worth the climb - good for the legs.

Going back again, soon.

Room Tip: Spectacular views from the bungalows

My husband and I have just returned from Skiathos, staying at the Belvedere Hotel.
We cannot praise it highly enough. Without paying stupid money like the Skiathos Princess and the Espiredes hotels, the Belvedere was superb. The staff are amazing, and couldn't do enough to make our stay with them as good as possible.
The hotel is family owned and run, and everyone who stayed there at the same time as us were as impressed as we were. The rooms are spotless, cleaned every day, with clean towels every day. Breakfast was very good, with a huge choice which catered for every taste.
We stayed in the main hotel, but didn't realise we could have stayed in the bungalows, so be aware that you have the choice, but the bungalows are up a long flight of steps, so if you have difficulties walking, this may be a problem. There is a lift in the main building.
The Achladies beach is a short walk away, but when you see the pool area you may decide that you would like to stay there. You can get lunch from the pool bar, served by the very helpful girl who will try to get you exactly what you want.
Please DON'T be put off by the review of Albert M, there is always someone who is never satisfied, whatever they have, and he is the one.

Room Tip: As I have previously stated, you have the choice of either the main hotel 1st or 2nd floor, there is...

My daughter -in-law and I have just returned from our first trip to Skiathos and were so happy we found the Belvedere Hotel, Achladies - it is a beautiful, clean, centrally placed hotel, run by excellent staff who speak very good English and go out of their way to ensure you have a very pleasant stay. The beach is close by and takes just a few minutes to walk to - and I can assure you the water is warm, clean and very safe to swim in even for young children. A trip into Skiathos Town can be done by water taxi every half hour from the beach - and there is a bus stop right outside the hotel which takes you one way to the Town or the other way further up the coast to various other interesting beaches and so cheap. It was a fun filled week and one we will be doing again in the near future.

Room Tip: Very elderly people who would find lots of steps a challenge would be advised to ask for a room in t...
