“Extremely Accomodating”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 4, 2008

We arrived close to 11 pm and the hotel had been ready to send out a search party for us. They were genuinely concerned about us (we got terribly lost a number of times on the way to Olympia) and actually insisted that we go relax in the outdoor restaurant and they'd have someone make us something to eat. OK, after our unpleasant staff at the Divani Apollon outside of Athens, these were welcome words and deeds.

The room was clean, and it was our first (of many many more to come) "mind the crack" experience (two single beds shoved together to make a double) but we have nothing bad to write home about. The breakfast buffet in the morning was typical buffet fare, but the fruits and juices were fresh and inviting. My husband embarked upon his long love affair with the frappe here.

We didn't take advantage of the pool because we spent all day at the archeological site but it all was certainly in a beautiful setting amongst the olive trees and gardens.

Wonderful location at the top of the hill behind Olympia. Service, decor, room size and cleanliness was excellent. Reastaurant and breakfast was great.

This hotel was absolutely wonderful from the moment we arrived; the customer service, the room, the amenities, the food, the views... all for a great reasonable price!

  • Liked — The hotel itself and staff.
  • Disliked — That we couldn't stay longer.

Family of 5, two rooms, one night, we had what I guess was a step up for a double and triple room, rooms 316 and 317, the first a double, the second a triple. I think the rooms were the same and they converted one of the sofas in a sitting area to a single bed. Both rooms had an upper level with bed, and a step down area with seating and desk and TV. In room wireless. We had a great view of the excellent pool area. Staff was super friendly. They get alot of tourist business. Family owned and they all work there, part of Best Western and they (the chain) should be glad to have their branding on this fine hotel. Tavern by the pool area provides an oustanding dinner with many traditional and favorite choices cooked perfectly. The pool area and pool bar are really nice, the pool is large and clean. The location to the ancient Olympia site is very good, but not walkable. Again: great value, great hotel, you won't be disappointed!

  • Liked — Everything was outstanding, dinner exceptional, pool great, staff and service A+.
  • Disliked — No complaints at all.

Without sounding too much like a snobbish American tourist, most travelers from other countries don't seem to place as much of an emphasis on luxury (even at moderate prices) as we do. Our travels around Greece on a Globus tour, especially the part on the Louis Cruise Line ship, pretty much convinced me of that.

This hotel was probably the highlight. It was very comfortable and the service was extremely courteous. We unfortunately had to endure an extreme heatwave (you might be tired of hearing this from my other reviews) and any hotel with a great pool gets an extra nod. Our tour had dinner in the hotel and the food was surprisingly good given that they had to handle two large groups. Again, this was not a luxury resort, but it came close enough and our family would certainly recommend it to anyone touring throughout Greece.

We visited Greece for 1 month and traveled everywhere. This was among the top three hotels that we enjoyed . The rooms were large, the pool welcoming, the grounds inviting and the staff outstanding! Just a great place to stay in Olympia. Great value for the price. Wonderful restaurant and the breakfast that was included was one of the best we've had in Europe. Highly recommended!
