We stayed one night in the Olympic torch hotel in may 2012.
We were searching for an hotel in Olympia in order to be able to visit the archeological site early in the morning. As we didn't want to spend too much money in the hotel and given the prices of the other hotels in Olympia we thought that the Olympic torch could be a good compromise ... It was definitively a mistake !
The Olympic torch website promised us an hotel renovated in 2008, a swimming pool, greek hospitality ... We found nothing of that. The hotel was really old and decrepit, the only thing that could have been changed in 2008 was the window ! All the other stuffs in the room must still be from 1975 ! The beds were really uncomfortable, the sheets and towels were smelling. The room was not really clean with hair that could be found all around it and a snail in the bathroom ! The swimming pool that was in picture on their website was not in the hotel but in a camping 200 m away. The wifi was "out of order" ! The breakfast was simply awful, old dried cake was served to us, hopefully the bred was fresh. We didn't dare trying the other dishes ! Finally we could not pay by card (it was also out of order !).
Except its good location everything in this hotel was a tourist trap, we expected more for the 40 euros we spend there, moreover given their website. If you don't want to spend too much money for a night choose an hotel in another city, because with the poor sleep we could find on their horrible beds it would have been a better choice for us !
