“Great Collection”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 6, 2013

Give yourself at least 2-3 hours to visit this museum, more if you like to read everything. The collection is superb, but if you have the time, take the trip to Vergina for the day to see the royal tombs.

“Fantastic”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 29, 2012

A modern updated museum, very spacious, very interesting, super clean, and well-presented permanent and temporary exhibitions. Even if you don't have much time, it is worth visiting the temporary exhibition on antiquities looting and the permanent exhibition on Macedonian golden artefacts. Very helpful and polite staff.

“The Gold Of Macedon”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 28, 2012

This permanent exhibition was all that we managed to see at the museum because we got there a bit too late in the afternoon. Plan to have at least half a day here - there is just so much awesome treasures to gaze at. A truely magnificent exhibition and a must see if you are planning to go on to Verginia and the Royal Tombs of the Agai, as we did. It will give you a great foundation.
