“Wonderful visit!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 20, 2012

After visiting so many ruins that are just totally overrun with other tourists it was wonderful to poke around this beautifully-preserved site without having to battle for space. Because this is a little "off the beaten track" the quality of the experience is very high. Highly recommended!

“Excellent on site museum and a beautiful theatre”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 2, 2012

The excavasions show you a nice theatre, the agora from Roman times, walls and an excellent on site museum, small but with an excellent collection of marble statues, golden coins and other finds.

New museum well presented English and Greek explanations. Crazy ticket system but that's pretty normal.

“What a theatre”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 8, 2012

this stunning theatre has been in use for centuries. I was lucky enough to attend a performance of a modern day comedy which was sufficiently topical for me to have a reasonable understanding of the political points being made - very funny. But go to any performance just to be where thousands have sat before you and soak up the atmosphere, gaze across the plain and get the gist of the play.
Because this theatre is in constant use it is well organised with masses of parking, adequate loos and a taverna. You may have to walk a few hundred yards to the arean entrance and then climb up to the seats - giant steps, be warned if not fully mobile.
