Starting on the positive part, Pierion Mouses is located at a great spot, view-wise. Enough parking space. Ease access. The room was warm throughout the day, with or without the use of the fireplace. Decent breakfast.
Continuing on the (unfortunately long) negative side, the room (a 5 person capacity) was not clean enough and the cleaning personnel did only the basics such as provide with toilet paper. There's no room service. Delivery with woods and tinder for the fireplace was valid twice a day with limited quantity. It was a small surprise for us when we asked for both quantities to be delivered at night for a continuous use over the night (decided as a group of friends to stay up late). The management refused with the excuse of possible conflagration because of such long, time-wise, use. To me, this is aν indirect acceptance of poor chimney construction. A 250ml soda can costs 2 euros which is too expensive. In a certain occasion, management payed great effort to discourage me from using my debit card instead of cash. I believe this happened because the bank receives commision from Pierion Mouses upon any transaction of such nature but this is something not of my concern. Unless there is a certain notice of denial, I have the right to use any legal mean of payment and they are obligated to accept. As said, breakfast was decent but I have to point out two negative issues: the chalet (area for breakfast, dinner etc) did not have ready tables with dinnerware etc. Filter coffee was coming out from a machine that was pouring different amount every time. Must note they do accept on the spot orders for other coffees. The official price list at the room is outdated (two years old if I'm not mistaken) and although I am not an expert on the law governing hotels etc in Greece, I believe this is not right.
Overall, Elatochori and Pieria are beautiful places to visit. But for accommodation, Pierion Mouses is not a place I would recommend, especially with the current prices. If it was much cheaper, I could then accept nothing more and be happy.
