Second year running and everything is as good as the first time.
Several second timers there as well. What can you say?
Booked in again for next year..

Arthur.

This was a Thomson 'small & friendly' hotel and was brand new when we stayed there in 2007. Really lovely, nice little pool and cafe on site, clean, friendly and helpful staff. Would recommend.

A great hotel in a lovely location. If you want to relax, read and totally chill out this is the place for you. Its ideal for couples,NOT suitable for children. The owner,George and his staff, Christina & Alex ,and others were all friendly, polite and helpful. The hotel and well kept gardens are spotless as are the rooms.Loved having a full sized fridge and kettle too. Went to the BBQ night at the hotel which was great [despite the heavy rain!!] and is a good way of meeting other guests, also enjoyed the cocktail night but suffered the next day! Nice restaurants nearby in Kalithea were "Elenas" and "Face",and there were many good ones in Afitos[20 mins walk] but we liked "The Corner" restaurant. Beach is lovely in Afitos the water beautifully clear the sand gradually sloping into the sea. All in all we had a relaxing 2 weeks met some great people and would definately return!

Just returned from Country Inn Hotel 2 wonderful weeks, our son and his wife went last August recommended it very highly so we booked with 4 other friends.
The Hotel is immaculate rooms cleaned every day plus bed linen and towels.
George "the owner" together with Christina and Alex are pleasant and very helpful.
Good Bar with Snacks although a little expensive.
Kalithea is run down and a bit tacky although Helenas and Faces were worth a visit for the food.
Make sure sure you go to Afitos ( 20 miniute walk) or 3 minuite cab ride (5 euros)
Great atmosphere, bars and restaurants with a genuine Greek feel.
We would not hesitate to recommend the Hotel for the "more mature Market" or honeymooners it is not suitable for children or "Lads and Ladettes holidays.

We felt that it has been over sold by a lot of people on here. Maybe it is down to the fact that it is horses for courses, but we felt something was missing.

My wife and I stayed here from May 14th to May 21st. It took us 10 hours to travel from Manchester to the hotel due to government strikes at the airport etc so we arrived at around 6pm. We were tired and went straight to our room. We were let in when we arrived and the room was quite big. The bed is low down and quite hard with a pillow each. The bathroom had a shower in it - no shower curtain so if you shower, it soaks the floor/toilet etc

The view from our room was excellent - had a view over the pool and through the trees out to see. The place was lively with people splashing about in the pool.

After a short rest we went out to explore the hotel. We hit upon the pool bar and checked to see what food was on offer. Nothing apart from chips, burger, salad and jacket potatoes. We deciced to go out into Kalithea for a meal. We ate at this lovely place (it was the 1st place you hit on the right that has wooden beams, floral vines etc
We then went back to the hotel.

We soon found that eating out was essential.

Over the week the shine of the hotel started to wear off. Yes, it was pretty but we soon realised that give it a year or so and the place will be more suited to the senior market (no offence).

Advantages
+ Beatiful views
+ During the day it is quiet and felt like it was our own villa holiday
+ It was always clean

Disadvantages
- Food was very basic inc the "famous" BBQ night (which was a let down)
- Hotels next door are noisey but do all go quiet at midnight
- Didnt experience the fantastic staff. They served us but didnt make chit-chat.
- Eateries are a 5-10min walk - which is essential due to lack of meals at the hotel
- Expensive drinks in the hotel - 2.5 Euros for a glass of Coke - places in town do the same for 1 Euro.

I would recommend this hotel as it was cheap, but as I said above it wasnt the best hotel I have ever been to.

I have just returned from a beautiful relaxing week at the Country Inn Hotel with my partner. The hotel is amazing, really clean and well maintained and the staff are really friendly. Nothing is too much trouble for them. Chrissy who mans the bar/reception during the day is an absolute gem.
Breakfast consists of bread, butter, jams, honey, Greek yogurt, fruit, cereals, cake, meats, eggs and cheese. It was fresh and they replenish it frequently.
The bar serves snacks during the day which are a little expensive. Wednesday night is BBQ night, it was excellent food and good value at 10 Euros pp. Drinks at the bar are also expensive, but they do have a happy hour and a cocktail night.
The closest village is Kalithea where you can find plenty of "tat" shops, restaurants and clothes shops. A little further away (a 20 minute walk) is the larger village of Afitos which is staggeringly pretty and has some really good restaurants. A taxi back to the hotel costs about 5 Euros. We only really discovered Afitos on the last night which was a shame because it is defiantly nicer than Kalithea! Take my advice and explore Afitos first! We found the food to be of a much higher standard in Afitos than in Kalithea.

Just come back from the Country Inn hotel. Absolutley excellent. If you want rest & relaxation, this is place for you. My Partner & I spent our time reading, dozing, listening to MP3 player, much like everyone else. Of course there is the very nearby town of Kalithea, and a little bit further, the lovely typically Greek village of Afitos to visit, and if you are on a package there will be excursions as well. Both locations have many good places to eat, I would recommend 'Face' & Elena Taverna in Kalithea, and in Afitos, any tavernas overlooking the peninsula over to Sithonia are all good. The country Inn hotel offers only bed & breakfast, however they also do snacks and light meals, I would strongly recommend the tuna salad - enough for two. The rooms are nice, basic and all have a seating area or balcony outside each room. Shower room/bathroom is a 'wet room'. Be aware the plumbing in Greece is different from Britain and other parts of Europe and cannot accept toilet paper, wet wipes and towels, so buy some nappy sacks before you go, or get some at the supermarket in Kalithea. The Country Inn hotel is mainly for couples seeking peace & quiet, this place is NOT for children. There is no creche, paddling pool, or any other kind of child activities available - it's just not that type of place. There is an pool, very clean and of good size. I would also recommend you attend the BBQ on a wednesday evening - unbeleiveable. This also allows all the guests to meet and chat about why they are there - I found everyone whilst we were there very nice. They also have a quiz night, cheap cocktail evening. The owner - George - and his staff are really, really nice. Better english than most British peoples' Greek - shocking, so, dont show us up. Dont be ignorant, buy a phrase book and learn some, just a little. You will find it is VERY much appreciated.
