This hotel has a great location- on the beach and short walk up a hill to town, however, the rooms are just average. The air-conditioner in the room is set by the hotel, so you can not make it cooler if you wanted to. And the worst was the pool. It is lined with very slippery tiles and there are NO handrails upon entering the pool, and so i fell and hurt myself descending the steps since there was no handrail at all to hold on to.

Stayed last year end of June with my family, including 3 years child.
Hotel is ok, food not very varied, but after 3 days we decided to eat at the restaurants in kalitgheea and nearby (great in Kriopighi -Tzakis and Makis !), so it was ok.
Swimming pool ok -had section for kids,sunbeds free of charge at the pool
bests: hotel was really on the beach (which for Halkidiki is not easy to find!), and from beach to pool you had only to go some stairs

Ammon Zeus is situated at the beach front in Kallithea. To get there you have to descend some 20 meters from the main road that runs around the peninsula of Kassandra. The beach in front of the hotel is clean and nice and the water is shallow and crystal clear. Hotel pool area includes a section for kids and a bar. Rooms are clean and greek three/four star standard. Bathtubs are the smallest ever seen. The hotel offers a large number of rooms with sea view and the garden view aint bad either. The hotel only offers a half board package and unfortunately the food served absolutely sucks. It is served on a buffet basis. Imagine yourself placed in a canteen in a kolchos somewhere in the 70's Soviet Union and you easily get the picture of the "cuisine".

Remarkably there were a lot of visitors from the CES countries at the hotel. We spotted cars from Russia, Bulgaria, Romania, Czech Republic, Serbia among others.

To avoid both the food and to see people shovelling it into their mouths (some people just don't seem to have learned good table manner...) just let the hotel's dinner be and go for other restaurants either in Kallithea or at the other side of the peninsula which offers nice sun set views accompanying your dinner.

With better food a even higher price is motivated.
