“Hotel that does not keep its promises”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed July 9, 2014

Worse hotel I have ever been to - a hotel that does not keep its promises and does not care about its customers.

You call hotel reservations - twice - to make sure they can meet your requirements before confirming a reservation (via Expedia); they promise to meet these requirements; you get to the hotel and find that not only is the room they promised not available but the hotel does not give one dime about it.

Even though we had paid in advance we left immediately. Needless to say, neither the hotel nor Expedia refunded a single penny ...

a wonderful hotel with a very relaxing atmosphere. The surroundings are simply stunning. It has at least seven pools, with only a few sun loungers at each to avoid overcrowding, I presume. An excellent beach with white sand. The drinks are very expensive, however, although the food at the buffet is very appealing and fresh. A wonderful hotel

We were 4 persons with a 5 months baby girl and we stayed at the lower part of the hotel for 5 nights with two sea view rooms, which must absolutely be equipped with new comfortable beds as the current ones are not what you expect from a 5* hotel – better sleep on the grass.

The location was very nice and, something that we appreciated very much since we had a 5 months baby with us, was the garden between the last villas of the hotel and the beach. It is a quite big space with grass and trees’ shadows, which was very useful for staying with our 5 months baby girl during the day to avoid the heat of the beach, yet avoiding the necessity of going to our rooms.

That said, THE GARDEN IS A HEALTH HAZARDOUS PLACE TO STAY WITH YOUR BABY!

The 4th day of our stay, at 11:00 a.m. while staying at the garden, the chief gardener of the hotel started to cut the grass with a very noisy grass cutting machine.
Since our baby girl finally fell asleep, we kindly ask to the guy to move into another part of the garden, or to cease the process – the garden is used a lot from the guests of the hotel during that time of the day.

The rude reply of the chief gardener was for us to go and sleep to our rooms, as we had paid only for that. We asked for the manager, but he is never there, so we met the deputy manager, who said that the garden is a public place and that we had paid only for the rooms, basically if you opt for this hotel you should request to have included in the price the use of the garden and the respective timetable. The guy started to cut only the grass surrounding the baby stroller, and so we were forced to leave.

The 5th day, on June 27th, while our baby was sleeping in the stroller at 10:30 a.m., the chief gardener, once he saw us staying at the garden with the stroller, opened the irrigation sprinkler – same as those used for agricultural purposes with a 10 cm diameter – AIMING DIRECTLY TO THE BABY STROLLER AND PUTTING THE LIFE OF A 5 MONTHS BABY AT SERIOUS DANGER due to the vast quantity of water that fell inside the stroller (pictures attached show how the stroller got entirely wet) – MY BABY GIRL ALMOST CHOCKED, if it wasn’t for my mother in law.
Since the manager was not there – as always - we complained to one of his deputies, who apologized for the evil actions of the chief gardener for both days and, at least, took out all the extras from our bill for both rooms.

Our vacations were ruined!

To cut the long story short, if you have a baby with you than you should watch out for the chief gardener, don’t stay in any grassy area (they are public places) or simply stay in your very old uncomfortable room.

Apart the above, the restaurants and bars were all very nice and have very good service; however, I would not recommend the hotel to anyone until the chief gardener is fired.

Room Tip: Stay away if you have toddlers!

Good, standard hotel. If you stay here, and find something wrong, then it is your own fault for not reading the Trip Advisor reviews. The description from others on this website is excellent, and are a credit to Trip Advisor.

The problem with the hotel (for me) were the lack of good Internet access, and that the hotel is a bog standard, family targeted resort, which could be in any other country in the world. It lacks soul, which is a shame in a country like Greece.

I use wifi for my music, finding good local bars, Google maps, booking my next vacation, writing TA reviews, and my for work. Unlike some others here, I did not come here for a vacation, but came to work for 1 hour a day, and to relax for the rest of the time. The lack of wifi and the bad (Vodafone) network service was a big problem.

It is clean, large, has amazingly well trained and helpful staff and the service is first class. The food is plentiful in quantity and variety, but not in quality (except for the A La Carte restaurant at the bottom). This is a result of mass feeding a large number of people in a 2 hour time slot. Personally, I wish that I had not paid for the food, and had gone to the excellent local tavernas instead.

Will I stay here again? Probably not, until I have a family, and then I may well do.

I've just come back from a week at this hotel and had a really lovely time. Someone has said that its a bit dated, ok its not super modern but does that really matter. You hardly spend any time in your room anyway when you're on a beach holiday. Its clean, the staff are friendly and its in a stunning location. People have also complained about the wifi connection. Seriously people you're on holiday, wifi isn't the most important thing to think about when you're on holiday. Our room was really clean and we had a sea view. The food was great and the service was great. The beach was really beautiful, white sand and clear water and there was never a problem getting sunbeds.

The only negative for me for the whole holiday was that the resort is too quiet. My friend and I were on a girly holiday. We like to sunbathe all day and party all night. We did some research and people said it had a good nightlife but it was too quiet for us. Aqua bar down the road (within walking distance) opens at midnight every night and was packed with a great atmosphere on the Saturday night but very quiet every other night. There are four or five clubs within walking distance of Aqua but they were only open on the Saturday night. We went in the middle of June so it could be that the season hadn't started properly yet but I wouldn't recommend it for a party holiday. But for couples its perfect.

The town of Kallithea isn't very pretty, its a bit scruffy and commercialised but Athitos which is the next village along is really pretty with some nice tavernas.

Kryopigi (which is in the other direction) is also worth a visit. Taxis to to Kallithea, Athitos and Kryopigi are really cheap.

Room Tip: Ask for a sea view. We were in the hotel that's on the beach. The main hotel is a bit posher...

Overall - very nice. But... wi-fi connection was poor, too slow, and you could obtain internet signal only in some places: even the restaurant was not fully covered with signal. What is the worst, once we had to wait in line for the dinner, so that the feeling was not quite similar as being in a hotel with five stars.
