“Little Slice of Greek Heaven, we went twice in 2002 and 2006”

We both loved being here in the Mistralli apts. They have a webpage if you
search on google.

If you want to go - you wont be dissappointed. This is a family ran resort and
its fantastic value for money.
We have been twice now and are completely amazed at how wonderful it had grown
in the past 4 years.
Self catering apts with views of the Ionian Sea, Most Gorgeous inviting pool I
have ever swam in, so clean and tidy is this resort that they really should up
the prices... its a steal.

Joanna and Miltos are the owners and they are ALWAYS great to their guests, they
are always willing to go the extra mile for the client. Steve was the best
barman in greece - he is from wales and is a true gem to the resort.

The resort is a little out of the way - and is therefor better catered to those
seeking a lovely quiet greek holiday that boasts lovely greek bbq's and friendly
service - they have a brilliant pool snack bar for lunches and the dinner menu
(which they lay tables out all around the pool ) IS EXCEPTIONAL!!
If you are looking for something busy - its just a quick 2 min drive to the main
town, taxi fares are about 6 euros, and easy to get home too.

We will return again in another 4 years, to see the progress and to see how
everyone is doing.

Enjoy this resort - we loved it, we have made some wonderful friends here
The family and the staff and John Donna Stuart and Kat and little Olivia. Its a
place to encourage friendships and fun with lovely evenings and peaceful lazy
days by the pool.

Happy Holiday Vacations

Friendly owners/staff. Great swimming pool. Not a nice beach. Clean rooms (Greek style, e.g. no shower curtains, so everything gets wet). Hard matresses, pillow. Small (but expensive) supermarket nearby. Far from TIvili centre (bars, restaurants). We found the music from the snack bar very annoying. It is there: all day long (from 1100 till 0030; and after this lots of - drunk - talk up to 0200). So if you like quiteness (e.g. hear the sounds from nature), this shoud definitely not be your choice. If you like simple all-day entertainment and good food and drink, this is good price/value.

“Nice, relaxing and cheap”

We stayed at the Maistrali last summer for a week and had a very relaxing holiday. The location is a bit off the beaten track and quite far from the nearest town, Tsilovi, so its awkward if you need a cash machine but it also means its quiet. You can hire mopeds or get taxis quite cheap though. It's a fair walk to the two local beaches (which are pebbly not sandy) and didn't seem at all popular apart from with locals so if its sandy beaches your after try elsewhere on Zakynthos. The weather that week was absolutely boiling so we just lounged around the pool which is clean and well maintained and right next to the bar/restaurant where they sometimes played cool music (not loud) which took your mind off the heat. The whole complex was really well maintained and quite picturesque. Also, there was plenty of room around the pool, not overcrowded at all. The staff at Maistrali are all really friendly, helpful and polite. The first night we were in an apartment facing the main road and were kept awake by trucks and coaches going past so we asked to be moved and they sorted it out for us. what more can you ask! As far as eating out goes there are loads of small tavernas in the area but we often ate at the poolside bar as they had a great choice of local dishes and english 'cuisine' (i.e. something 'n' chips) which is good for kids and folks who aren't that adventurous. They do a cracking Full English Breakfast btw :-) There were people of all ages staying at the apartments and everyone was very friendly and relaxed. On the whole if you want a relaxing time on Zakynthos then this just might be for you. Although its suitable for families there isn't a great deal for young children but they had a pool table and entertainment at nights which might keep older children happy. PLEASE NOTE: We went with Thomson as it was a package holiday so got offered some great excursions (the ship wreck and turtle spotting excursions are a must!) but I think the Maistrali are cutting their ties with Thomson so I don't know if this will change the experience in the future, hopefully not.

Just back from Maistrali Apts in Tragaki. Myself and my husband stayed for 1 week (in apt 214)which had the best pool view and got the sun all day. This family run complex is well run and spotlessley clean. The studios are a good size and maid service every day. Small supermarket across the road which has everything you'll ever need. The pool bar is open early for breakfasts and then snacks/meals all day. Voula on reception knows all the guests by name and is very informative on what to do and where to go.
To get to Amboula Beach (which is pebbly) turn left outside apts and walk along cutting through Plagos Beach and then turn left and at bottom of hill is the best Taverna 'Amboula Beach Restaurant'. Food is just amazing.
40 minute walk into Tsilivi which is a large resort with all amenities, whereas Tragaki has 2 apt complexes and 1 hotel.
If you're booking trips, expensive through Thomsons, but in Tsilivi, Dionisis Tours are good and worth the money. If you wait until day before you want to go a trip, they generally reduce the prices. They have 3 offices in Tsilivli. Can recommend the trip to Shipwreck Cove.

“Great Atmosphere!”

Maistrali

This is a complex of self-catering rooms in the very quiet Tragaki, which is within walking distance of the busier Tsilivi. Zante town is about fifteen minutes away by car.

The apartments are clean and have basic self-catering equipment (2-ring cooker, toaster, kettle and two of everything crockery-wise!). They do have nice big fridges though.

The complex sits around a big, clean pool which has a separate childrens' section. There are free sunbeds and umbrellas. The gardens are well-kept.

There's a restaurant on-site, serving local dishes, simple food but very well done and incredibly reasonably priced (plus free wine with two meals). They serve all day so you could feasibly eat there the whole time - we had a few evening meals there and breakfast on our last morning.

Attached to the restaurant is the bar, which is where the atmosphere radiates from. The owner of the complex, Miltos, is renowned for his strong cocktails and there can be noise from the bar at night as people get into the holiday mood; however it's not bad enough to moan about and really depends who has popped down for a nightcap.

There are indoor and outdoor pool tables and there's going to be an internet cafe.

The reception staff and handyman are as friendly as Miltos (and his wife, Efe) and they will soon recognise you on sight and have your key waiting for you.

There's a little shop across the road where you can buy provisions and four or five restaurants within five minutes walking distance. There's a very small beach (pebbles not sand)and the area is full of olive groves.

All in all, a good place to go if you need a break in the sun at reasonable prices. If you hire a car for a few days you'll be able to see the whole island as nowhere is too far away.
