“Best place for Fish”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 30, 2014

Best place for Fish. We went for the small fish, ouzo and mezedes and absolutely enjoyed it. The food was good value for money and staff are friendly and fast. Overall nice place for a standard Greek fish experience.

“Relaxing Seaside Dining”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 6, 2012

Located waterside on the north end of the bay and sometimes known as Gregory's, Paliokaravo offered a nice variety of fresh, local home-style dishes. Four of us arrived by water in our small runabout and tied up to the convenient dock. The friendly and gracious hostess gave us the chioce of sitting on the patio area next to the water or on the veranda of the restaurant a few yards above. It was a mild evening, we chose the patio. We ordered a bowl of tzatziki, which was very rich and garlicky and served with a few pieces of pita bread. The amount of tzatziki was very generous and we put it on all our other dishes with lots leftover. We were unsure of serving sizes so asked our hostess for the amounts to order and she was spot-on with everything. We shared two plates of grilled vegetables (eggplant, onions, zucchini & peppers), one in our party ordered 1/2 a kilo of small grilled lamb chops, another ordered thick grilled pork chops, and two of us had the mixed seafood grill. Everything was cooked to perfection and delicious. The only negative was the house wine. Both the red and white were virtually undrinkable. I would recommend asking for a suggestion from the by-the-bottle list.

If you are going by water at night I would recommend locating the restaurant during daylight first. We took off when it was dark, not quite knowing exactly where along the east side of the bay it was located. It's tucked up in a corner, and luckily we had a flashlight and paper town map that helped us finally find it. It was worth the effort!

“Excellent quality of traditional greek food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 20, 2012

Probably the best restaurant in Ithaka. Traditional greek dishes in big variety and excellent quality. Also the location is great.

Most dishes are worth tasting however if you have children in the company go for the Pizza among other thinbgs.

If you try sea food, mind the prices because they can be challenging.

I thing it is one of the oldest reastaurants if not the oldest in the island.
