We are just back from a week at this hotel and had a lovely relaxing time with our 14-month-old.
Having travelled a fair bit in a variety of different standard hotels over the years I would say that this hotel is perfect for families. Those looking for a nice, quite, romantic getaway should go elsewhere.
We stayed on a groundfloor room over looking the grounds and sea. It was perfect as we were just a short distance from our sunloungers if we needed to get back to the room. We could also sit outside our patio doors on an evening listening to the entertainment whilst in earshot of our son.
The all inclusive options are the best we've ever had. The food was 5 star and our son was able to eat well all holiday. The children's menu was pretty much burger and chips but we stayed away from that he ate healthy meals from the adult selection.
If your child is a picky eater there are two supermarkets within five minutes walking distance which sell a wide range of foods you would expect to see at home. They also sell nappies etc but be aware that you will be paying around 11 Euros for a pack of pampers.
The hotel is near Corfu Town and Gouvia. We took a taxi to both for around 10 Euros. We felt it was too hot for our son to be waiting for a bus. Corfu Town was nice, quiet and cool in the morning before 10am.
You could walk to Corfu Town but we felt it was too hot for the little one to do this and you are walking along a main road. It's possible but not like walking along a strip with shops etc.
We'd reccommend this hotel for families with children under the age of 13.
The major plus points to this trip for us were:
Thomsons' creche - lovely staff, air conditioned.
Beach - beautiful clean, warm water, shallow enough for kids but a good swimming beach for those capable. We didn't see any jellyfish.
Play parks - perfect for young and old children
Infant pool - great for toddlers. Far enough away from big pool to avoid older kids ruining it for the babies.
Grassy area - oasis away from the noise of the pool
Food and drinks - best we've had.
Room - our room was in need of upgrading. It was serviceable but we've stayed in better.
Soft play - the air conditioning here didn't work so it was like a sauna, hence why we ended up using the creche.
Grounds - the grounds are beautiful but would be nice to see more walkways to allow people to go for a stroll/run. You can walk around the grounds adequately but I'd like to have been able to go for a run (personal point maybe).
Pool - the main pool was packed beyond belief with kids. To be expected in summer holidays but the second pool I understand that is being built is definately needed.
