“Good Value with Excellent Service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 25, 2013

Take note of the high number of good reviews and totally ignore the bad reviews - they come from another planet!
I have stayed in many different Hotels around the Med and this one rates highly. It is correct to say that the general client is of more mature age but these people know what a good service is and have plenty of other reference points.
The public areas are kept clean and tidy and while not of ultra modern decor, they are well kept and very comfortable. The bar staff are extremely welcoming and provide a top notch service. At the side of the bar is a spacious veranda which is coverd by vines, which provides a nice cool area to have a drink during the late afternoon.

The rooms are sufficient to all needs are the air conditioning is very good (and needed for sea view rooms, which face the setting sun), The maids kept our room very clean & tidy. Free beach towels are provide and can be frequently changed for fresh ones.

Ignore negative comments regarding the food. Which is varied and offers plenty of choice. If Gforce thinks people have had a hard life for rating this hotel - I suggest he holidays in Portofino and pays the going rate there. The number of good reviews do not lie.

I can recommend a walk to the Italian memorial and then on to Argostoli and nice drink at the Aqua Bar opposite the ferry quay. Followed by a taxi back to the Hotel for 6 Euros. Also a visit to Fiskardo & Skala.

Room Tip: Good boat trip to Zakynthos

LOCATION: Walking distance to local bars and cafés and very close to the nice private beach (the sea is not very warm, however, lots of fish to see when snorkelling). Taxis are outside and will travel to other towns such as Argostoli.
ROOM: Great sea view, comfortable beds, effective shower and air conditioning, spacious fridge for bottled water, etc, but our balcony had no protection from the bright high sun.
POOL: Decent size and lovely temperature (but there are unattractive metal bars to separate the children’s pool - which they rarely use as they use the main pool). Plenty of choice of sunbeds and parasols, and small towels provided.
FOOD: Breakfast offers juices, choice of breads, hot food, continental, some cereals, melon and tinned fruit (whole fruits are poor quality). There is not a huge variety compared to 5 star hotels and no soya milk. The dinner buffet is good and different dishes every night with basic vegetables; all well-presented and cooked well (apart from one night of sickness, maybe due to a chicken schnitzel!).
For the low cost of the holiday the hotel was what we expected and we had a very hot and relaxing break, but those crickets are loud and relentless!

I normally take heed of tripadvisor review percentages but we booked this last minute and there wasn't much availability. What a mistake!
I am amazed that anyone could rate this dump anything other than poor or terrible. People that do must be used to a hard life. It is on a par with a NHS care home and smelled like a hospice.

Our sons were in a room stinking of sewage and it took 2 days to get them moved. There's a stank in the toilet and the maid put the bin on top of it to keep the smell from wafting up.

We were half board but the food was TERRIBLE. We ate there the first night but couldn't finish the dinner. The glasses were dirty with old lipstick. We ended up eating out every night and only had yoghurt for breakfast.

The beach was a nice small sandy beach but jam packed full of people on sunbeds. The first day we couldn't get any sunbeds at the pool or the beach! If you walk along to the left (looking out to sea) you can hire pink sunbeds at €7 for 2. It is a small bit with about 8 sunbeds and is more peaceful away from the masses but is pebbly and sandy.
And the wifi was a joke. Think back to dial up times..get a shower while loading a page.

My advice is DO NOT STAY HERE but if you are unfortunate to have already booked up..cancel it. If you must go then go on a 'Room Only' basis and use it as a base. We hired a car and got out of Dodge for 4 days.

I recommend staying in Assos for any more independently minded people which is beautiful with small pebbly beach and only 15 minutes away from the gorgeous Myrtos beach and close also to Fiscardo.

Booked last minute with Thomsons for a week in June. Pleased with the overall accommodation. Bedrooms were large with fridge and tea/coffee making facilities and appear to have been recently refurbished. Plenty of lifts and ramps for those less mobile. Food was very good. My only observation (NOT a moan) was the dining room tables were very close together, so although it made for friendly conversation with your neighbours it may not suit those wanting quiet romantic dinners! The majority of the visitors during our stay were middle aged couples (many return clients) and families with very young children.

Room Tip: Request a seaview before you depart

Lovely hotel. Met many travellers who were returning for their 10+ year. The food was really good. In 7 days I was never offered 1 chip which is pretty good for buffet style eating. Lovely refurbished room overlooking the sea. An all round good find

Room Tip: sea room was quiet

we have just stay for a week in this hotel and we were very impressed by it ,excellent food ,very clean and very well run hotel. Next to the beach and near all shops and facilities in lassi. It has a lifts from the beach up to all floors so good for people with disabilities snack bar at beach level and another bar around the pool which was lovley and clean too .A car park is available and plenty place for hired cars . good size bedroom and bath room and always very hot water too.we didn't have a sea view but still did spoil our stay we just had a inland view .air conditioning work well to if you need it and included in the price not charge extra when you get there .
Lots of guest at this hotel seem to come year after year and the staff are so friendly and met the previous customer/guest as if they were there family .restaurant was so well run. you must wear long trousers for evening meal or you will be told in a nice way to wear trousers and not shorts for evening meal.(so we found out when my husband wore his dressy short for 1st night and the head waiter escorts you to the table told him about wearing trousers.) but after that we knew.!
We would recommend this to anyone who like nice quiet hotel ,suitable for couple and families its has good facilities ,not for rowdy people.
we will go back to kefalonia and this hotel and no problem. we loved our stay .

Hotel has its own beach. There are lifts all the way down to beach, so you do not have to walk through public areas in your swimming costume. Cost of EU 6 for two sunbeds and a brolly is reasonable. There is also a bar serving drinks and snacks on th beach, plus changing rooms and wc. Showers for when you come off the beach. Beach has golden sands and is very safe for children, as it is shallow for quite a way, but you can swim out to deeper water within the buoy areas. Water is crystal clear and you can see tiny fish swimming around. Sea changes colour all the time.
Hotel is modern and very clean. Staff always polite, friendly and go out of their way to make sure you have a wonderful time. The swimming pool is large with a special area for children. Also there is no grabbing of sun beds by leaving towels , as this is not allowed.
Food is varied and interesting. Try the local Kefallonia wines, there is a good one at EU11, we liked it better than the dearer one.
Air conditioning works well in the bedroom, The beds are comfortable and large.
Tip: Walk up the road to the Aqua Marina taverna, they do cocktails half price from 6 pm to 8 pm and then only EU 4.50 after that. Very relaxed and informal.
Lassi village is only a few minutes walk, with shops and tavernas, and car hire.

Room Tip: Pay the extra and get a sea room, you can watch the moon reflecting on the water, very romantic! Othe...
