“Super Family Run Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 8, 2014

We have recently returned from a week on Tilos staying at Eleni Beach Hotel. Staff were all exceptionally friendly and couldn't do enough to make our stay a super experience. As an example, the weather became quite cool and wet whilst we were there. Warm woolly blankets were immediately put on our beds without having to be requested.
The location is super, straight onto the beach with free loungers and umbrellas, with views across the bay and port. Some might consider the hotel interior and rooms a little dated, but they are very comfortable and clean.
Livadia is a great village/port with a decent selection of tavernas and bars, a marvellous place to relax and cut-off from the rest of the world. Due to ferry problems, we had to overnight in Rhodes Town and the contrast between Rhodes and Tilos was remarkable.
We have visited many Greek Islands over the past 35 years, with Tilos and Eleni Beach ranking close to the top of those we would revisit.

We have recently returned from a thirteen day stay at this hotel.

I chose this hotel largely on the excellent reviews and I have no problem having stayed there with the positive comments and the negative comments made by your reviewers.

However as one of your reviewers said the real test of a business is when things go wrong and on this the hotel failed miserably.

We were allocated room 11 on the ground floor and the room itself was perfectly pleasant and was well maintained by the staff.

However from the first day with the exception of four days there was no warm water let alone hot water available. The room was therefore not fit for purpose.

I complained on three occasions the last time to Michaelis himself to be met with indifference and in Michaelis case hostility. His suggestion that I run the water for five minutes proved totally useless-in fact I ran it for up to twenty minutes without success. In the end I had to resort to boiling water in a kettle.

Clearly there was something wrong with the supply to this particular room as I understand other rooms in the hotel did not have this problem.Guests who have stayed in other hotels in Tilos confirmed that they had no difficulty in getting hot water.

I have travelled extensively in Greece over the last thirty years and am well aware of the quirks of Greek hotels but I have never experienced anything like this.

Anyone who wants a guaranteed supply of hot water should avoid this hotel.

Whilst it may rank as the best hotel in Tilos there are many nicer Greek islands where one can get similar accommodation with hot water included.

Room Tip: The higher up you are the more likely you are to get some hot water in the room

Five years in a row we have been welcomed by Costas, his brother and staff at this nice friendly small hotel on the paradise that is Tilos. Quiet relaxing and at all times so friendly, as are all the local tavernas an restaurants.
Decent lunch and nearby restaurants for dinner make this a perfect wind down location.
This year the Sea Star is broken down (terminal electrics) so a two stage journey Rjodes to Halkirk and then on to Tilos the next day. Happy island hopping.

Stayed here for 14 days. Nice room, but boring breakfast. Almost the same every day. Bread, jam, one piece of cheece and one piece of ham and a litte box of honey. Yoghurt one day, next day eggs. Never a piece of tomato or cucumber or something green.

We have just arrived back after another wonderful stay at Hotel Eleni Beach in Tilos. Michaelis and his team work tirelessly to make your visit an absolute pleasure and it shows. To be able to sit on your balcony and have wonderful sea views to being able to walk all of a dozen yards to your free sunbed on the beach The Hotel Eleni Beach has it all. This was our second visit and this time we were on the ground floor in the newer building at the front with uninterrupted sea views - magnificent. The room was much larger than the original building however the balcony was smaller but fully sufficient for two people. The room and indeed all the hotel were very clean and well maintained and a broken bulb was replaced within a very few minutes. Tilos is a great island to just relax and unwind and the Hotel Eleni Beach is the best place in Livadia to do it. We will be back again next year.

Room Tip: Request a room with a sea view in the newer block at the front. Whilst we had a ground floor room wh...

We spent the first three weeks of July at the Eleni and this was our ninth visit - what more can I say other than this is the best hotel on Tilos - Michaelis and the family run the hotel to an extremely high standard, the proof is that so many people return to the hotel year after year. All of the staff and family at the Eleni are so helpful which all goes to making time spent there a pleasure.
The rooms are of a good size and are fresh and clean with lovely bed linen and daily clean towels - cannot find fault with anything.
A good size balcony looking over the wonderful bay - can spend hours just taking in the beauty of it, plus plenty of sunbeds and a lovely bar for drinks and lunch is so required.
It is just a short walk in to Livadia for the bars, tavernas and a few shops.

Room Tip: all rooms are really good - it is in a peaceful location

Beautiful place - and nothing had changed form my first few visits. Spotlessly clean, daily towel changes and helpful staff. Great to be met from the ferry and have a lift with your luggage to the hotel.

The views are stunning, it is idyllically quiet and the beach is just a few steps from the front door. Wifi worked perfectly.

Breakfasts have improved here, and whilst there is no choice, it is great value for money. Can't wait for next year.
