Having a substantial deal of experience with not so posh hotels on the Greek islands, I was prepared not to mind some things I would encounter during my stay. I must admit it way way better I could even imagine. Me and my fiancé had chosen this hotel basing on the fact that it was rather low budget and small. We are not keen on going to huge five star places with waiters bowing at your table. We prefer small hotels with friendly atmosphere and guest who will not look down upon you if you don't wear an evening dress and high heels for dinner.
Needing a quiet holiday, sunbathing sightseeing and taking load of photos we chose Costa Angela on the Kos island for our destination. Our tour operator was Neckermann. After a comfortable flight (the flight was via Rhodes on the way back) we took the coach from the the airport (I guess it's the smallest one in Europe) and after an hour or so we reached the Hotel.
We were really surprised as the owners personally came out of the hotel to welcome us! That was just amazing and never happened to me so far. My fiancé thought they were supposed to tell us that there was no room or something...haha...The hotel is run by the friendliest Greek family on the planet. After few minutes at the reception desk and patient explaining how the things worked, the Signora lead us to our room. We paid some extra for the sea view which was a great idea and I recommend it to everybody! A huge advantage of the place is that there is no road between the hotel and the beach. We don't have children ourselves, but that's a really safe thing for parents. The room was quiet at night. AC was optional, but it wasn't necessary because the room was rather cool. What's important, towels were changed regularly and despite the modest furniture, it was just perfect. I recommend to take a socket device for mosquitos, just for your comfort. You can't do anything about them, neither the hosts can:) Breakfast were pretty much the same everyday, but there was much to choose, coffee was good and vegetables fresh. Dinners were at really economic prices, there was a speciality of the day every evening. I loved the fish and gyros. The Daughter and the Son were explaining the foreign names of the dishes and offered some ouzo after dinner. Yummy! They also advised us where to go and what to visit. We felt just like in paradise! We took some nice photos, some of them I posted on flickr: http://www.flickr.com/photos/jeszyna/8314722241/in/photostream/
I hope you know better what to expect. I wish you all travelers a wonderful time there. I send my regards to the Family if they read this review. I deeply wish we would come back for our wedding there. Cheers Joanna.
I recommend the sea view!
