We arrived at the airport and easily found the rep who directed us to our coach for the 20 minutes to Kefalos. As we approached it looked very barren and none of the apartments we passed looked particularly appealing. When the driver then reversed for what seemed like hours up this pitch black lane to drop people off at their apartment we wondered what we had let ourselves in for!Typically we were the last to be dropped off and after getting off the bus after going up yet another pitch black lane we finally got to our apartment. Place was absolutely spotless which was a very good sign although we were too knackered to care and only wanted to sleep.We were there with Libra but apart from the first night we never saw a rep anywhere near the place. If we wanted to see them we either had to go to a bar which was at the bottom of the lane or trek miles away to Kefalos Tours. This appears to be the only place we could get a safety deposit box as well which seemed a bit off. We also had to ask for more toilet roll, a request was greeted by a dirty look by the cleaner who we just happened to meet the day after she cleaned the apartment without leaving any.Kefalos itself was nothing like I expected, everything looked very dry and dusty with not much life to it. The beach was nothing to write home about with manky loungers that we were expected to pay 5 Euros for. All the restaurants appear to have exactly the same menus and are of dubious quality. There is a Chinese restaurant called Papillion which I definitely wouldn't recommend. Extortionate and the blandest chicken chow mein I've ever tasted, no amount of soy sauce could liven it up! We found a nice restaurant called Santa Barbara which was reasonably priced with very polite staff where we ate most nights after trying a few other places. Nightlife was a bit dull as well, perhaps it was due to the fact we were there beginning of June.Lovely pool/cafe Andreas, a couple of minutes from the apartment which was open to all. Great position and plenty of lounith windsurfing, jet skis etc. Around 25 Euros for half an hour on the jet ski I think.Overall it was a good holiday but we were told everyone that goes to Kefalos will want to come back again but don't think that'll be us.
