“ancient hospital”

Just what you can expect. Ancient greek ruins for appropriate entrance fee. Very nice view from the top. Parking is for free and toilets could be better :)

“Great day out”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 17, 2013

We were very lucky to have a tour guide from Thomson Hols who on the whole tour was fun and very informative as the Asklepion was part of a island tour.
Our tour guide explained the history of the Asklepion with drawings and maps of the ruins at the begining of the toure which helped build a picture of the site and people. Lots to see and learn a large site with different levels surrounded by lovely gardens
The views from the site were beautiful of Kos and you could see the Turkish coast. Even if your not up to all the steps you could enjoy the views and gardens and the small cafe at the entrance.

“Major interest”

Get a tour guide to conduct you through these ruins, thought to be the first hospital. Covers vast area, with temples to the Gods, Clinics and convalescing areas. Fabulous views, and steeped in medical history

“Ancient Sanctuary”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 16, 2013 via mobile

Quite a well preserved ancient site. There are information plaques dotted around. They are worth reading.

The Greeks could present these ancient treasures a little bit better though.

Definitely worth a visit.
