“best hotel in town”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 30, 2012

We stayed at this hotel last year and we stayed there this year too. The hotel is right on the beach, with amazing veiws from the balcony. The hotel was 5 minutes away from the town centre.

The hotel is spotless. Clean sheets and towels every day. The lady who owns the hotel is lovely. She picked us from the airport and dropped us off. She is very welcoming and friendsly, always willing to help. The breakfast was very good and was freshly made every day. At the end of eah corridor there was a small kitchen with all the essentials. In each room there was a fridge, safe and kettle.

The island and the hotel was so nice that we will be returning in the furture.

The Ilion is a thoroughly delightful ultrapersonal hotel on a classic storybook Greek island with beautiful beaches, picturesque oldtown complete with indoor labryinth complex, restaurants, and shops, all within easy walking distance of the Ilion. We were greeted by the hotel owner, Sophia, who immediately put us at ease when with refreshments and a smile. We asked about the room we had reserved and she showed us other rooms in case we wanted to switch (we did!). We were there for a week and her unflagging enthusiasm, cheer, suggestions, and good graces made each day a delight. Each day's breakfast buffet included with fresh vegetables, fruits, juices, cold cuts, pastries, yogurt, and a Greek egg dish. Most days we spent at the nearby beach, and we also rented a motorbike and dune buggy other days to reach other beaches. Incredibly clean, incredibly relaxing, incredible, incredible, incredible! We will plan our next vacation around anther week (or longer) at the Ilion !

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a balcony viewing the ocean. There are no elevators but its only three stories...

We spent 4 nigths in this hotel.
Our room was on the second floor, with a balcony from which we can sow the sea : agios georgios beach is a few steps from the hotel and the old town is 5 minutes away by walking.
There is a little shared kitchen on each floor where you can find plates, forks, glasses etc.
Room was very clean and towels were changed every day.
Sophia, the host, went to the port by car to bring us to the hotel and she has taken us back when we leaved.
Sophia is very kind and she prepares fantastic cakes for the morning breakfast, everytime delicious.
In a few words, Ilion hotel is a great choice.

The Ilion Hotel is in a perfect location for the town and only 10m from the beach. Sofia is warm and kind - she couldn't do enough for us. Breakfast is delicious and set us up for the day. The hotel is spotless and very comfortable. Naxos is a beautiful island and Ilion Hotel the perfect location to enjoy the sea views and experience the warmth and hospitality of the Greek people. Highly recommended!

Room Tip: Ask for a sea view.

We have been to the Ilion many summers for many years. Sophia, the owner is the best. The rooms are large. The breakfast is homemade and different everyday. The rooms are spotlessly clean. You won't find a cleaner hotel or a nicer hotel keeper in Greece.

This hotel met all of our expectations. We travelled from Canada, so we were very nervous about the island overall and our hotel reservation. The service was wonderful; staff is very nice and focused on making us feel welcome and happy. The owner, Sophia, is very welcoming, she made a great breakfast every morning and made us feel at home. This hotel is in an ideal location because it is on the beach and away from city noise... It's a very short walk into the main town (where the port and local transportation is). The rooms are clean, comfortable, and are a good price.

Naxos in general was a great experience. We recommend taking the local bus to prokopios beach. The water is blue, clear, and relaxing. Thank you hotel Ilions, our stay was amazing and a great experience.

Hotel Ilion was so close to the beach you could feel the salt water in the air. Situated in Naxos in the St George beach area of Naxos town and within 5 mins of the town square and most restaurants and shops. The room itself was comfortable enough with a little balcony that you could watch the sunset from. The one small problem is that the hotels are not allowed to have lifts so if you are carrying any large suitcases make sure you can lift them yourself. The room had a TV, aircon, fridge and tea and coffee making facilities. The showers were ok, after visiting a couple more of the Cyclades islands we realised that it is common not to have a fitting for the shower head. The lady of the hotel was very pleasant but we're not sure she understood everything we said to her and our Greek was just as limited. The breakfasts were buffet style plus fresh omelette and cheese and ham toastie when you eventually get out of bed. All in all I would recommend Hotel Ilion as a basic but great place to stay whilst in Naxos. Happy travels.
