staff were excellent to us. Free dinner first nite would have been overpriced if we paid menu cost, but plenty of excellent taverna in chora five minutes walk away. excellent breakfasts too including grilled tomatoes and all the fruit and yogurt you could want. Wife had a great massage. Driver to and from port a classic and good barmen!

My husband and I stayed here with our two young children for 4 nights. While it is a beautiful looking hotel, it clearly has problems. The biggest problem are the two receptionists and the owner. On arrival our children could not wait to get into the childrens pool. After about half an hour both of our childrens legs, hands and feet where dyed BLUE. My daughter has very blonde hair and this turned green from the water. One week later and I still cant get the colour out of her hair. The paint had come off the pool and when we informed the management of this they did not believe us. I had to ask the manager to come and visit my children in the room where we tried to scrub off the paint. The most upsetting thing was that the management/owner never even apologised to us or cared for the welfare of our children. My daughter went on that night to get an ear infection and we had to take her to the doctor for anti-biotics. On top of this when we had checked out at 12pm sharp (no mercy there, they just throw u out), the only ferry to the Island was at 5:30 in the evening, so after a lunch and visit to the town we returned to the hotel to pick up the curtesy bus to the port and collect our luggage only to be SHOUTED AT by the very rude woman behind reception that I could not change my two young children in the toilets because they where for guests only!! We paid €220 per night for our stay here. It was a rip off. Its meant to be a 5 star resort but they do not have room service. When my daughter was sick in the room and we could not leave they would not allow us to have dinner in our room. This was a disgrace. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. It is a beautiful looking hotel and has nice rooms but the attitude of the management is disgraceful. They should get rid of them and get some professional staff in.

We picked this hotel in Folegandros as most of the other hotels we wanted were booked. We were pleasantly surprised with the quality of the hotel as most of the reviews here were negative. The location of the hotel is great - no view - but just right in the chora. Pool is great and the rooms are very nice. Most of the hotel staff are very helpful and polite - with only one exception - believe is the manager with an attitude. We would definately go back to Folegandros and Chora Resort.

Chora Resort has it all: ideal location, lovely staff, magnificent layout, superb pool, great food, and good value. We spent a few nights here a week ago, as part of a trip through the Cycladic islands, and this hotel was, without doubt, our favourite of the lot. Even the little details, like the friendly driver, gown and slippers, bathroom scale, etc, are considered - and appreciated. I'd recommend this hotel as a top spot to stay, but also as an authentic taste of Cycladic island life.

After reading the reactions below we tried to cancel our reservation, but were too late to find an alternative. Fortunately so, because the hotel turned out to be very pleasant. True, it is not located high on the cliffs, but given the Meltimi blowing, this was a blessing in disguise. Our room was absolutely lovely (see photo) and offered a view on the attractive and spacious pool area, like most rooms do. A sympathetic gesture: the fridge was not stuffed with expensive drinks but offered enough room to cool the yoghurt and fruits that we bought in town. The neighboring gasoline station was only visible from a high window in our bathroom (we needed a chair) and the parking lot and 'main road' (realize that we are on Folegandros!) were too far from the pool area to cause any nuisance (see photo). The bartender was an extremely nice and helpful guy and when my wife did not feel well one evening, the restaurant was more than willing to serve a small dinner on our terrace. We were also offered a free treatment in the spa. We decided not to, so we cannot judge those facilities. The hotel was fully booked and the tourists seemed to have a very good time. If you’re looking for Greek atmosphere, this is not your hotel, but if you don't mind an international style – recommended!

  • Liked — Room and spacious pool area
