My mother and myself arrived around midnight. On the way to the hotel we started to panic as we were driving away from any street lights or main roads, which is a worry for when you are out in the evening. When we arrived we were greeted my 1 male attendant who did not speak english and took us to our room. The room was very basic but reasonably clean. However there was a large crack in the tiles which my mum fell and hurt her foot on. As two females alone we felt very intimidated as there were random men just dotted around in the middle of the night. We were the asked if we wanted to have a plate of food so we went to the restaurant. It was dark with dim lighting and all the tables were dirty. the food then came it must have been sitting out all day we recieved stale bread, with spam and cheese with cucumber these products that should of been cold were warm and soggy. There was also some meat on the plate as well which i can only describe as dog meat which was also not refigerated. the wine was out of date and tasted like vinegar and the juice was warm. we then felt a little nervous in the dim lighting with no other company so we left all the food to go back to our room. we felt scared as when we were walking back to our room there was just one man lying on a sun bed near to our room with no one else around this made us quickly go to our room and lock the door and not really sleep. you do not get air con in your room without extra charge. in the morning we thought we may have been being silly so we went down to breakfast there was no atmosphere anywhere not by the pool either the breakfast was a bad as the midnight snack.the food was in edible and (no tea!). so we decided to head out of hotel to get breakfast. we then realised we were miles away from the town and beach it says 800 metres to beach this is not true. we had to go on a 20 min walk to beach and even then this was not the main rethymnon beach we had to catch a 15 min bus ride to the town! that day we decided we could not stay at the hotel and we had to leave and pay for another week accomodation and food as we were meant to be all inclusive. overall the food was terrible, the customer service was none, the room was basic without aircon, we had no representative to speak to, the hotel smelt due to the large bins everywhere, it was not near the beach or town, it was definately not 3 star. Please do not waste your money on this hotel it will not be a pleasant week it will be more like torture for 7 days. Rethymnon as a town is beautiful so go there and stay and you will have a wonderful holiday. this hotel is not a representation on crete as a place. i would recommend the Kriti beach hotel this is a great 3 star hotel on the beach.
