“A Fine Place To Stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 13, 2013

The hotel had only just opened for the season (end Apr) so was quiet but that suited me.

The layout is great with the bar and main restaurant positioned to take in the great views (sunrises and sunsets) with the pool, bar and afternoon restaurant tucked behind. The pool area is well positioned with plenty of space for loungers. The rooms were clean, spacious with plenty of storage and an all important fridge - most had views of the pool or the sea.

Both breakfast and dinner buffets were plentiful. Dinner was varied every night with plenty of options. My only small criticism would be that I would have liked to have seen some more authentic hot dishes in the evening (moussaka, souvlaki, kleftiko) and some fruit based desserts (simply fruit salad would have done) rather than just the sticky sugary offerings.

The staff are what lifts this place from very good to exceptional. It is clearly a 'family' run place where everyone takes pride in hotel and the services they offer.

I will certainly go back, maybe towards the end of the season, to see some old faces.

Stayed for a week end April. Chose Atlantis Beach because of the good reviews and wasn't disappointed. Cannot find anything to fault. Nice position on the outskirts of Rethymnon beside a beautiful beach. Good size rooms, spotlessly clean, lovely buffet each evening. Friendly atmosphere with the best staff ever - cannot do enough for the guest. Loved watching the sunset over Rethymnon Fort on the outside terrace while having a glass of wine. Will be coming back and would definitely recommend.

We have had a beautiful two last days of our holiday on Crete. Nice, clean room and very friendly service. Breakfast and lunch were excellent and we walked to the old town centre for dinner. The pool is situated in a nice garden and was very clean.
The beach was across the street, which is a bit busy but cannot be heard as you are on the beach near the sea.

We went to this hotel on honeymoon for a two week stay.
This is a family run hotel where the standards are incredibly high overseen by the owner who was ever present along with his manager.
Our bedroom was of good size and comfortable with a view over the pool. All aspects of furnishing including linen were modern and clean.
The food was exceptional, varied and the service excellent. Each evening eating in the restaurant was a real pleasure - the wine list was extensive and reasonably priced and our wine waiter knowledgeable of local wines- I managed to have a different red wine each evening!!!
The beach across from the hotel is very clean and safe. Fresh fruit was given complimentary from the hotel on a daily basis to the sunbathers there- a wonderful touch. Food and drinks may be ordered here and charged to your room. The lunch menu at the hotel caters for all tastes.
The staff are to be commended for their fantastic attitude towards their guests. Nothing is too difficult for them- reception dealt with any requests quickly and professionally, the restaurant staff courteous and effecient, beach staff friendly it was as if we were one of the family.
This hotel is ideally situated to the town only a five euro taxi ride away to a more lively area of the town.
The care and attention we recieved here has yet to be surpassed - it is the small things that make a place, for example, a large glass of fresh orange juice was sent by the owner to my pregnant wife while we were waiting to get picked up for our return journey to the airport- totally unexpected and touching.
We will return to the Atlantis Beach and would highly recommend this hotel for couples and families.- Hospitality this hotel is exceptional !!

Atlantis is a very nice hotel with a very nice beach directly across the street. The rooms are large, well appointed and very comfortable. There is an expansive breakfast buffet and a large dinner buffet that can be had on the breezy front porch. The pool looked lovely, but it just could not compare with the golden sand beach associated with the property. The staff was friendly and courteous. As I said, Atlantis is a very nice hotel, just not what I was looking for. As a vegetarian, selection as slim for breakfast and even more slim for dinner. The hotel is a long walk from the port and old town, and as luck would have it - we arrived on the day of the general strike and there were no shuttles or taxis to be had. Walk into town was about 20 minutes long. The general feel of the hotel is resortish - with a special eye it seems to the european traveler. Besides yogurt for breakfast and greek salad for dinner - the food did not feel cretan or even greek. All of that being said - Atlantis was lovely - if it fits your desires for a beach hotel.

First time in Creta was a wonderful surprise for us! You've probably heard about Greek hospitality but this is beyond every expectation! The staff of Atlantis beach hotel is the most friendly staff ever!
From the manager to the maintenance men, everyone was helpful and smiling.Special thanks to Maria and her girls for working so hard to keep the rooms and all the hotel shinny.
The location of the hotel is perfect (very close to the city but still not in it).The rooms are spacy and full of light.
The food was great! Having dinner at the terrace with this amazing view of the Fortezza,is breathtaking!
I must also mention that the wine list was a nice surprise for me;large variety of wines from all over Greece and very good quality.
Thanks to everybody that turned our holliday to one of the most enjoyable holiday ever!
