“Average hotel but the sister hotel connected is much better!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 24, 2013

We thought we had a good deal however after the firstday we quickly decided we had chosen the poorer sister, Upon arrival the staff were courteous and provided us with bread, cheese and tomatoes which was a lovely thought despite it being 2am!! The restuarant was clean and the food was adequate however only being half board by the third day we had upgraded to all inclusive as we kept missing breakfast. The downside there was only one pool we could use which got PACKED during the day however we did take advantage of the sunloungers that were free IF YOU WERE ALL INCLUSIVE on the beach across the road. The bar manager took the rules to the next level when it was coming up to last orders (yes last orders on holiday which was a first) we ordered drinks however as we had not finished the ones we had on the go flatly refused us. Annoying!! We had our son with us and were clearly not inebriated so found this very annoying. The Aegean which we were linked to was a clear step up compared to the pearl beach which we had our nose rubbed into as you overlooked them every evening eating in a much plusher restuarant with a higher standard of food. There was only meant to be one star between them however I would say comfortably two. Towels for the beach could only be changed twice weekly which was not ideal and you had to leave a deposit which i thought was inappropriate. The hotel is in a good location and only cost a few euros to the old town which I would highly recommend. Would we go back to Rethymno? definately. would we stay at the Pearl Beach, probably not. It was certainly not a bargain at £3k for 11nights all in all and we had to get our own transfers at £90 each way!

Room Tip: We stayed behind the hotel, the beach view rooms would be better

This was the first summer holiday that my wife and I had booked in eight years, so when we went to Thomas Cook to book our holiday we were quite specific in what type of holiday we required. We asked for the island of Crete, a hotel with bed and breakfast only, (as we enjoyed dinning out as one of the pleasures of our holiday) old town, markets, good beaches and hot weather.

We were sold 10days at the Sentido Pearl Beach Hotel Rethymmon. Although our flight was delayed by 4 hours (due to a French air traffic strike) all we can say this was a fantastic holiday, meeting all we asked for and more.

A lovely hotel with brilliant helpful staff our room was always clean and had its own private swimming pool. The hotel restaurant although, we only had breakfast had every thing you could wish for. The organised trips were great and the local people made us so welcome

All in all our holiday was a wonderful experience, so much so, that the very day we got home we went to our Thomas Cook travel agent to thank them and ended up booking the same holiday in 2014 with an early booking discount of £200 and an extra day.

Room Tip: some of the rooms on the ground floor have a private swimming pool

I am just at the end of an amazing holiday in Rethymnon and this hotel.I found the location brilliant its right in front of the beach and plenty of restaurants and bars right outside the hotel. The hotel serves great food but if you want to try other places Mio Gusto's, Irini's,Manolis place,Egli,La mare were among my favourites and only a few minutes walk from hotel. The hotel itself is lovely and all the staff are very helpful and friendly.i would highly recommend a stay here I can safely say I have had one of my best holidays to date here.its a 20 minute walk from the centre which I found great as you could have a walk along the beach road in the evening to visit the old town and see all the shops and sites.there is also a great shop/travel agents if you turn right when you come out of the hotel they sell gorgeous pottery and gifts.this was a 10 out of 10 holiday for me.

Stayed with my boyfriend and his family in July this year, and had such a peaceful and relaxing stay, didn't want to leave!

The hotel staff were so lovely and spoke to us every day whenever we walked past the bar.

Rooms were lovely and cool with air-conditioning, which was a little noisy but better than being boiling. The room was beautifully cleaned every day.

Pool was used by us every day and seemed clean.

The hotel was on a lovely road, overlooking the beach, plenty of supermarkets and restaurants nearby, prices of food were very reasonable in the local vicinity. To get into the main town it was a €5 taxi journey or a long-ish walk, but the town itself is beautiful and full of shops, restaurants and cafes.

A really lovely hotel in a wonderful town, great memories of this holiday :)

Room Tip: Make sure you ask for a balcony!

We stayed at the Sentido Pearl Beach in Aug 2013. Immediately on arrival we were greeted and made to feel very welcome with a cool dink and a cold towel. The Hotel Staff, as we were to learn, were fantastic. They could not do enough for you. Always with a smile. From the manager, the waiting on staff in the restaurant, the cleaners and most of all the Bar Staff who were superb.

The hotel is set right on the beach, there is a road in between, but this does not pose any real problems with noise etc. The Hotel is clean and well kept. The rooms are very comfortable and have all you need for somewhere you really are not going to be spending a great deal of time in! Good showers, comfy beds, terrace, and most importantly good air-con.

The hotel didn't specifically cater for certain countries' guests, there were quite a mixed bag of nations staying at the hotel, good for your language skills and socialising

The Hotel puts Entertainment on nightly. This varies from background music, DJ, Dancers, live musicians, even the dreaded Karaoke!

Overall this Hotel was fantastic for our 14 night stay. Highly recommended. We would definitely return.

Room Tip: Ask for a Terrace on booking.

We spent there 2weeks (beginig Aug to mid Aug '13) .Given the fact that, we where family with two seniors, one of them in wheeling chair, hotel accesibility was at least excellent .The oblective of the trip was R&R .Objective achived!
Services : Staff very very kind! Upon to our requests for assistance there was always someone to help us.To our notices to the reception for some small issues in the building (water leak and burned bulps to the corridors the issue has been fixed in minimum time !
I cannot dιstinguish people in the reception (Myros& Andreas and a very kind lady-can't recall her name) ,people in the restaurant and of course people on the bar ,where we hanging out most of the day(Manolis,Peggy,Dimitra ,Dimitris ,Irini,Stavros). Many thanks to all of them!
I think in terms of value for money this hotel is giving you more than you ask ,especially in the peak of the season .I will recommend it to anyone who wants to relax and enjoy vacations .
Having spent enough time to several hotels ,I can say that this working perfectly because people working there are customer oriented with intention to make you feel like your home.

Hope to see you next year!

My wife and I have just returned from a 7-day holiday staying at the Sentido Pearl Beach Hotel.
When we arrived at the hotel, we received cold towels and an orange juice from the receptionist. The room we were given was terrible - it overlooked the main road and the sound of speeding moped and coaches was not pleasant. After complaining to the receptionist, we were offered a great room overlooking the swimming pool. The room was pleasant, and we had a TV (BBC, CNN available) The only problem was the shower - every time we had a shower, the bathroom floor was flooded. Basically, the shower curtain was too short. I must say, however, this was only a minor problem. We went half-board, and the breakfast and dinner was excellent - a great variety of dishes to choose from, and a nice sweet trolley! The waitresses were sometimes rude, but not a problem.
There was entertainment offered every night from 9 to 12: disco, Greek dancing, Greek folktiore show, magic show, stand up comedian, etc. This was not our cup of tea, but for families with children, it was enjoyable. The majority of the guests were Russians, Germans, French, not many Brits.
There is one good sized pool and 2 tiny ones. There are not enough sun loungers, so you have to get up early to reserve them by sitting on them (if you put your towel on them, they will be removed by staff) you can pay a deposit of 10 Euros for a towel, which can be changed 3 times a week. The money is returned when you leave. With the beach across the road, we spent every day there. If you are not all inclusive, you have to pay 6 Euros a day for 2 sun loungers and a sun umbrella. The beach is beautifully maintained, and the sea was wonderfully warm.
The city with its cobbled streets is about 2 kms away on foot (about 45 mins), but it's a nice walk after dinner. Here you can find 'real' Greek restaurants, and Greek people strolling in the town (not just tourists) - very pleasant.
This was our third visit to Crete, and although it wasn't as good as the other hotel we stayed at, it was a beautiful holiday and we would thoroughly recommend it.

Room Tip: Room 201 overlooks the swimming pool, and has a great view.
