“Fantastic time .”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 28, 2012

I arrived at this wonderful little hotel on the 10th july for a two week stay . having travel quite abit you always keep an open mind when reading about the hotel you going to stay in but this little place was more than i expected .
With very helpfull kind and understand staff , it rate highly in my book the cleaners are fantastic girls with a wicked sence of humour and the reception staff are always willing to help to make sure your holiday is a pleasent experience !!!
The rooms which should be rate at a higher standard than the 2 stars its been given are always clean and maintained and i was pleasently supprised by the swimming pool and the other facilities at the hotel.
Its location is idea for the Island , being central it ment it was easy to reach all the areas of interest by not only scooter but the day trips that are availible .
This is my first stay at this hotel but i will be coming back with my children soon .

Room Tip: rooms 116-119 are excellent for shade which is ideal for the 40 degree heat of july .

My friend and I stayed at this hotel and were very impressed with its cleanliness. The staff all seemed to have worked there for years and it looked like it had recently been refurbished. The pool was sparkling and the sunloungers new. Breakfast was simple (some fresh fruit would have been lovely) but everything else exceptionally good for a 3 star hotel. Went into Rethymon most evenings by buying a bus ticket for E1.40 in the supermarket and they ran every half an hour until 11.30pm. After that we grabbed a taxi back for no more than E8.00 (but make sure of the price before you get in). The hotel only seemed a quarter full which is down to the Greek economy but more guests seemed to be arriving as we left. Good for us, we had top service. Beach is opposite and we did a trip to Preveli which was lovely. Coach picks you up outside Klavos Travel which is right next door to the hotel, all so easy! I still found Greece pretty reasonable and they need your custom so go for it!

Room Tip: We had a room in the main block of the hotel but at the back, the hotel faces the road so this was p...

Stayed at this hotel for the second time and could not ask for more, ideal base to travel to Rethymnon etc. Don,t know what people what for the price they paid all I can say that it was value for money.

As regards the rooms, there was everything one could wish for ie, air con, tv, towels changed regularly, clean and comfortble beds. This is not 5 star as it appears some want and do not wish to pay.

Breakfast has choices to suit most people and though the same everyday you could vary your choice, not the hotels fault if one thought it was boring.

Would recommend this area which has a flat location and plenty of choice of bars and tavernas within easy walking distance to suit older people and families with children. Not ideal for young couples and singles looking for a lively nighlife. Beach access plentiful and just across the road from hotel.

Breakfast was too poor and every day the same. The floor in the room was dirty and the towels were overused. It had nice garden and swimming pool but rooms need renovation.

stayed here from 31/5/12 for 2 weeks.Management very good, and Anna the bar-tender at night
was very nice lady.I was dissapointed with the room, tatty furniture, small shower that leaked all
over the bathrom floor.(Floor tiles needed a good cleaning and bleach down sinks & drains would have been appriciated) Beds were comfy, clean linen and towels several times a week....
Breakfast was the same every day (went to another place several times for breakfast) I would not stay here again as I had trouble sleeping with the local dogs barking until the early hours of
morning.

This is my second review of staying at this hotel. In the first visit and review I did say I would return ;-) This family run hotel is friendly and ideally situated for local Bars and Tavernas with the beach just over the road. Suited to old and young being situated in a flat location.

I have stayed in worse 4* hotels! This Hotel with its spacious public rooms layout and large indoor and outdoor eating area with a large and comfortable bar area and Palm tree fringed quiet pool area really does merit in my opinion a 3* rating and just why it has not got the higher rating is beyond me.

I am not going into the rooms as I covered this last time, suffice to say with flat screen TV and a fridge (air conditioning available as extra if needed) They are more than adequate with their large balcony/patio area.

Easy access by bus into Rethymnon virtually right outside the entrance. This time I hired a car and managed to see a lot of this beautifull island and trust me it is a beautiful island. Car parking is available at the hotel.

According to Trip Advisor some 4,500 of you have looked at my original review (11 found it helpful) now whilst I appreciate that this hotel only has Olympic in the UK as it's sole UK Tour Company.......Do yourself a favour and book direct or book through one of the many online Travel Companies. Flights if booked through the Internet at the right time can be cheaper than a package!

After my second visit, my opinion of this Hotel has increased and I would have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone. Do yourself a favour........book it ;-) and visit this Island and as a base this hotel being roughly situated in the center makes for an ideal location.

Room Tip: Suitable or older people with walking difficulties as it is in a flat location with Bars and Taverna...

Spent last week at Palladion away from the awful British weather - 7 days of clear, blue skies and warmth! The hotel is quite basic but is decent value. The pool and surrounds are clean, the bar is comfortable and the drinks fairly priced. We had paid for half board but my advice would be 'Don't bother' - breakfast average Greek fare but the food in the evening was poor(that's being charitable). We paid 10 euros for the safe for the week but didn't need the 5 euro a night aircon: this would be essential in the summer. Room basic and comfortable enough although shower leaked leaving a mini-flood in the bathroom - good to see fridge for cold drinks - recommend taking a bottle of chilled white to watch the sunset on the beach. Cleaning of the room was, shall we say, cursory. Bus to Rethymnon was cheap(2.4 euros return, buy tickets at mini-mart) but the half hourly service was often very crowded, not to time and once drove past full: this is when the resort is reasonably quiet so it must cause problems at the height of the season. We were disappointed by the range and quality of food on offer in the numerous restaurants around the hotel, the bakery nearby and the pizzas at 'Remember' excepted. Rethymnon is a lovely town - visits to the fortress and archaelogical musuem fascinating - but best thing is roaming around the old town getting lost in the maze of old, narrow streets(night time is especially atmospheric). We found a lovely restaurant in one of these 'Taverna Pontios' 1. Melisinou 34 Rethymnon - be warned though - it's a devil to find even when you've been before!
