I ve planned my second visit in Ierapetra and I've chosen again this excellent hotel!!! Spacious room overlooking the sea, spotless bathroom and delicious breakfast! Special french croissants and a lot more. Friendly staff!!! Especially Despina. El Greco is highly recommended to any of you visiting the town of Ierapetra!!!

Not sure how this first line hotel is only ranked 3 Star.

My room was modern and immaculate. Bath robes if you wanted them. Wifi throughout. Fridge with complimentary waters. Balcony with sea views to west and east coastline - including to the port

Bar / restaurant backs directly onto the modern but laid back promenade

Room Tip: Level 3+ to maximise coastal view

I was there last week. I arrived late, around 11 pm, but there was a kind receptionist waiting for me.
The room was simply huge, clean and very modern. It has air conditioning, a big television, nice lights and a wide wardrobe. The bathroom was very large.
Wifi was supposed to be working in the room, but it wasn't; I told the receptionist and he fixed it.
The hotel is right in the center, next to the promenade on the sea, and is connected to a restaurant.
One thing I loved was the breakfast time: I had cereals and toasts with a wonderful view of the sea, hearing the sound of the waves!
One thing they could improve may be the variety of sweet pastries, maybe adding some Greek ones. Anyway It was enough and satisfying.

Room Tip: Rooms on the street may seem noisy but windows are sound-proof! Entrance to the hotel is also throu...

Lovely little hotel. Rooms were spacious, we had a nice balcony overlooking the water.
Beautiful reception staff. Good location with nice beaches nearby.. But still good to hire a little car to take you to other beaches where it's harder to walk to.
Hotel had a nice buffet breakfast and a nice bar where we would go for drinks and get our soccer fix as they had satellite tv.
Rooms weren't 100% clean.. Surfaces weren't spotless ie, floors, mirror.. But bed and shower were up to standard.
Would overall stay again

Larger than usual room and bathroom, very clean. Fantastic breakfast . Couldn't get room with sea view so there was some traffic noise from the road below. Not excessive though.

All in all a nice hotel worth a visit.

Room Tip: Room on seaward side would almost certainly be quieter.

3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 30, 2013

I stayed in Hotel El Greco for one night in late March 2013.The Hotel is well situated in the coastal promenade of Ierapetra/Crete yet and though it is a low season I asked for a room with a sea view but they didn't give me one. The excuse they gave was that there were some empty but they expected guests to come. From what I understood they just didn't want to give it because they charge it more and my room was prepaid. The room anyhow was big nicely furnished and with a nice big flat screen tv and free wifi. The bed was big (king size) but the mattress was quite hard. Everything looked clean but it didn't "smell" clean, mostly the bathroom. Breakfast was served from 07:00am to 11:00am which is convenient both for business and leisure travelers. It was good enough but I would prefer it to contain more Greek/Cretan dishes. The checkout time is average, 12:00am. Finally regarding parking there is no parking space but a two to three parking places in front of the building, one of which I was lucky to find empty.
