“Hidden paradise”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 7, 2012

Located away from the city, right in the middle of the countryside, this villa hotel is the perfect paradise. Westayed there for 10 days for our honeymoon and we loved it. The suites are amazing with beautiful views. The owners and manager could not do enough to help us from driving us to town to landing us a DVD player. The food, cooked by a local chef is amazing, the rooms are clean and modern and if you do not want to eat at the hotel, you can walk up the hill to the local village. the local tavern food is also to die for. If you fancy moving around, renting a car is a must but for us who wanted to chill, it was just perfect. I would highlighly

We stayed in this boutique hotel for 3 nights and enjoyed every minute of it. The suit was beautiful (the best we have ever stayed in). It was quite (just 4 suits in the hotel) and relaxing.
The owners think of their guests as part of the family and we received very warm welcome.
The first night in the hotel we got our dinner in hotel's restaurant. The owner went to Heraklion just to buy fresh fish and shrimps for us.

We definitely will come back, but next time will call the hotel to meet us in Agios Myronas :) (it's a little bit difficult to find the hotel by yourself).

Beautiful location, quiet, relaxing, great views, good food. Stelios and Stella are wonderful and will make sure you have everything you need. This is a place for people who want to get away from the crowded and noisy beach towns, but still be close enough to visit them.

Beautiful views, gorgeous rooms, pool, fresh breakfast, and top level service. Stelios and Stella will make you feel at home, as you enjoy your time with them. Close to the city, but in lovely countryside.

We read the reviews and felt confident that with all of the positive remarks we wouldn't be disappointed - and we weren't - we traveled as a family of four with 2 children aged 10 and 8 years - the venue is simply breathtaking, the rooms are beautifully appointed and very comfortable but above all it's the service that exceeds expectations l- the owners are a shining example of generosity of spirit, no request is too much trouble, guests are welcomed as friends and you honestly feel more like old acquaintances than paying guests - we would thoroughly recommend Vergis Epavlis and am sure that we shall revisit sometime. Crete is a marvelous destination with sunshine, great beaches, stunning scenery and copious historical sites to visit.

This was our first trip to Crete and certainly hope to return to Vergis. We travelled with our two girls 4 and 7 years old and had the most relaxing and wonderful trip. Both the girls are looking forward to go back and visit. In their opinion, this has been their favorite holiday and when asked why, they loved the place and the people. We left with a heavy heart but know that we will be back. Thank you Stella and Stelios and all the staff for making our trip unforgetable. You made us feel at home and enjoyed this vacation inmensely.

This was our last stop in Crete and it was the best. A villa on a hillside with outstanding views from your room. The rooms are huge, beautifully furnished, great a/c. Showers are small, but that's Europe.
The grounds have a wide variety of flowers and foliage. The pool overlooks the valley of olive groves, vineyards and lemon trees. If it is clear, you can see Heraklion and the Aegean Sea in the distance.
The owners, Stelios and Stella are so friendly, it;s like being part of the family.
The breakfast is top notch and served in a separate dining room with the same great view. If you are lucky, Stella will prepare a gourmet dinner. The food is wonderful.
I wish we could have stayed a week. The villa can serve as a base. One way, you can do as we did, and go to Phaestos(the unspoiled original Minoan ruin as opposed to the touristy Knossos). and tnen on to Matala beach on the Mediterranean. The other way is a day trip to the Aegean Sea. Perhaps a visit to a vineyard or hiking in the hills/mountains nearby.
The owners are wonderful, and they have a secret. Sarah, their dalmation that is a friendly playful dog that we looked forward to seeing each day.
Our friends had the Eros suite and I would recommend that for a honeymoon. We had the Rafkos suite and it was great.
One note, we called the villa as we neared the town of Agios Myronas. Stelios met us on the 2 lane highway/road and we followed him to the villa. It's a twisty one lane road so you need to be able to drive with a stick shift or do as we did and travel with a friend that can handle the task, just be sure to compliment his driving skills repeatedly.

Room Tip: Take your pick the rooms are great
