“Their ranking is well deserved!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 2, 2014

What a great way to start our first day in Crete!

Great variety of seafood and meze, great service, good wine, all at a really good price with an ocean view!

We just had lunch and are going back for dinner!

“like it was all fried in the same pot of old burned oil”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed May 31, 2014

Based on the rave reviews here on TripAdvisor, we decided to eat here on our one night in Heraklion. The setting was lovely, overlooking the water, and we sat down with anticipation of another great Greek meal, after a week of eating beautiful food on Santorini. We ordered saganaki, dakos, pork, and calamari. Seriously, the saganaki was worse than the most terrible fried mozzarella sticks you'd get at a mall in small town America. It looked terrible, unlike anything we'd eaten in Greece, and tasted worse. The fried calamari tasted exactly the same way, leading us to suspect that the kitchen had one pot of overused burned oil in the kitchen and they just fried everything in it.

The pork was so over-seasoned with cumin it tasted like bad Mexican food. The dakos were the best thing we ordered, but our molars nearly weren't strong enough to chew them. At this point we just assumed this is how dakos are, but we ate them in other places around Crete and they were crisp and crunchy, yes, but chewable.

The service was fine. When he served our dakos, the waiter asked if we'd had it before and when we said no, he showed us how to eat it, which we appreciated. Our food was served in a timely manner and we had no trouble getting the check. It's all good here except for the food.

“An "honest" seafood restaurant not to miss in Iraklio”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 27, 2014

Fresh fish, large portions, excellent service and reasonable prices is what makes my family and our friends visit this restaurant as often as we have the opportunity. We have never been dissapointed!!
Don't miss it when you are in Iraklio...enjoy the nice view accompanied by some nice wine or ouzo!!!
And a personal tip: if you are more than 2 or 3 try the seafood risotto (it is served in a really large plate!)!!!

“Great Seafood”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 26, 2014

Someone in Athens recommended this as well. We ate two of three dinners here. The seafood was really fresh ( have the catch of the day) and the waiter was very personable and helpful. Nice outdoor area with Plexiglas to block the wind. We noticed a lot of Greeks eating there so figured it was also more of a local place.

“Don't miss this excellent restaurant by the sea!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 22, 2014

Read the tripadvisor reviews and independently had a store clerk recommend this restaurant for lunch and everyone was right...this is one not to miss!! We had a nice selection of bread with some cheese dip, eggplant and chicken salad...then grilled vegetables; they were so delicious!! Each of us had a tuna steak prepared to our liking with the most wonderful and unexpected potato salad!! Each piece of tuna was more than enough to feed both of us!! The restaurant was busy at lunch time, but service was quiet good! We would definitely return if we had more time on Crete!!
