The location of this restaurant is amazing, the food is great, try the sea bass in sea salt, it melts in your mouth.

“Scenic dining”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 26, 2014

First: do not check it up on google maps / tripadvisor's direction. It's not where it is shown, but rather ask your concierge for the correct direction.

The view on Elounda beach, old wind mills and having an ancient basilica's mosaic floor next to the tavern make it a good place to visit.

We had a variety of mezze and all were good, eg. Fried octopus, sepia in ink with fava, cockles in white wine and garlic, fantastic grilled sardines and so on. Some Ouzo to fit and you have your traditional Greek dinner in a romantic atmosphere.

To get the best spot, make an early reservation.

Overall, the food is good Greek quality, although not something especially memorable, but the place makes it a worthy combination for a nice evening.

“Good experience but pricey!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 25, 2014

We had been recommended this restaurant and popped along this afternoon to book our table. We were glad we had as otherwise we wouldn't have got in as all tables were reserved. The service was very good and the setting was to die for. The table settings were nice with quality tableware and napkins etc. the waiter recommended a mix of starters for our party f 6 and then a sea bass for 2 to share and a grouper for 4. W ad a couple of beers, a coke and a bottle of wine plus two bottles of water.( 3 of our party weren't drinking). The food was excellent and the service impeccable as was the atmosphere. A the end of the meal we were presented with two platters of lovely Mellon and grapes plus raki. It was a lovely meal and experience and our lesson is to check what price we are paying for fish before ordering it. It's all priced in kilos and we didn't ask. The bill was equivalent to £40 per head which we think was pricey for what we actually had. Don't be afraid to ask !!! That's our advice and you will be sure to have a good night. The location is superb and definitely worth a visit but book ahead!!!

“Absolutely perfect!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 25, 2014

Locals had told us to visit here, which we did for a leisurely lunch. We walked there as we were staying locally and were welcomed and looked after efficiently. The restaurant sits on the edge of the bay next to the lost underwater city of Olos. We weren't overly hungry but wanted to try the seafood so we ordered a few appetisers (mussels, garlic shrimps, calamari) & a crab salad to get a sample of different menu items. We were also given complimentary fresh bread at the beginning & fruit at the end. The seafood was exceptional, beautiful flavours and very reasonable with a million dollar view. The food came together as requested and the staff were friendly and respectful. We had no problems. Thoroughly recommend this restaurant!

“Overrated”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed July 23, 2014

I feel somewhat bad that there have been so many great reviews about this restaurant and I am about to disagree but so be it as it is how I feel. Maybe it is because we live near the sea in SW England and so are a little spoiled about fresh fish.
We booked via our wonderful hotel 'Elounda Garden Suites' although when we got there they seemed to have 'misplaced' our booking. We had been told by a lovely American couple staying at the hotel who had been there a couple of nights earlier that they wished they had chosen more of the other dishes rather than just one fish for 2 people. For that reason alone we chose, for the 4 of us (2 adults and 2 kids), 1 salt baked fish for 2 and a bunch of side dishes. The restaurant owner/manager who was taking our order said the fish would not be sufficient and that we should order another one. We explained that this was what we had been advised and was what we would like to order. It was at this point that I felt we were not considered valued customers as would not be spending so much. We requested that everything came at the same time. We then ordered a bottle of 'house' wine which was 17 Euros but was pretty 'rough'. They brought our side dishes first so had to take those back when they remembered that we requested to have all the food together.
At this point a party of 18 customers came and started ordering and that was basically it. He lost total interest in us and an hour later we were still sitting there with no food although the table of 18 had been served theirs.
When the food finally arrived it was good but the fish was over cooked which was a great shame. This was probably due to the extra large table all ordering at the same time and maybe not the norm.
Not a total disaster but definitely not worth the above average prices and being made to feel like second rate customers.
