I visited (briefly) these apartments in august 2011. Firstly, if you read my other reviews you will see they are fair and balanced and are found helpful by other users. I do not expect perfection or something for nothing but what I do expect is to get what I paid for. I booked this as a last minute deal as a package with Olympic holidays. After a truly awful (delayed) night flight, a 2 hour transfer I became the person you feel sorry for when you arrive at a place and everyone on the coach thinks `please dont let it be mine`. The photos supplied must have been taken about 10 years ago minimum as the reality is nothing like what I booked, almost unrecognisable. I will shortly be attaching photos to show evidence of what greeted us. Our front door could not be locked from the inside. Cobwebs filled the apartment and you could not walk barefoot as the floor was so dustyand gritty. The table cloth still had ssomeone's dirty butter stains on it and most of the kitchen equipment was missing or filthy, either way you could not prepare food. On entering the bedroom we pulled back the sheets to have a quick sleep (night flight) only to find some `unpleasant` stains. We soon discovered that these were not on the sheets but showing through from the mattress which on closer inspection were thoroughly urine stained and grotty. The bathroom if possible was worse, the stench was dreadful and the `shower` was thick with scum, clearly not cleaned in months. Aside from this, the location, although with a beautiful view, was totally unsuitable. You are in the middle of no where. The pool bar was not open and the garage was not open, a walk to elounda was about an hour. My dad needed to eat to take his blood pressure medication and could not do this. Olympic holidays had sold this holiday on the basis of a 10min walk to elounda as my mum had recently had a broken ankle. I rang Olympic when they opened and explained how this was totally unacceptable. They arrived, the young girl (when I forced her to inspect the facilities closely) was clearly horrified but wouldn't comment. Her response was to get the insane owner to come up. She was aggressive from the off and said the door lock didn't matter, (we also found a door from the kitchen to an additional balcony that had no lock at all!) She said she couldn't do anything if "guests children in ****the beds". The only compromise she could offer was to "try" and clean the bathroom. While she went to follow this up, the rep took us to see a hotel which was marginally better but smelt smokey and told us it would cost €1500 to swap! We returned to Vasili to collect our belongings. During this time we overheard I very aggressive exchange (in Greek) between the owner and the rep. The owner came storming up the stairs to my parents apartment (this did lock) and was screaming and bashing on the door. We clearly stated that we felt threatened and did not want to let her in. She let herself in with her own key. She was screaming at us asking what our problem was, why we were leaving her apartments. She threw my bag on the floor and picked up the mattress from the bed in the lounge and threw it across the room. We grabbed our belongings and left. The rep was waiting outside so had clearly heard it all. She kept ringing bosses but all she could do was give us another apartment for one night. She rang us a taxi which we had to pay for and then left us. The new appt was just about habitabal. We also asked the rep to put us on an immediate return flight. Olympic holidays also refused. We left our stuff, walked to elounda and found a bar with internet access. We ate and booked easy jet flights for the next day. Olympic holidays take no responsibility for any of this neither does the crazy vasilis owner. It has taken me a long time to write this review as I have been very intimidated by the owner but I want to prevent anyone from wasting the money we did or having to go through what we did.
