What a wonderful hotel, beautifully designed and a lot of thought put into it! Staff are so friendly, helpful and very attentive. Breakfast is huge but fantastic! Very sad to leave but can't wait to return! We were received by Eva who suggested places to visit and eat, and she was right! Thank you all very much ! Sarah and Chris x

We loved Monastery Boutique Hotel - being in the old time in the quiet and atmospheric part Kasteli. The interior design is wonderful - also the little garden where you take the breakfast.
From the roof terrace you have a wonderful view over the harbour.
Mirka - one of the owners - is very helpful and friendly.
Also the breakfast was very good.
If we come back to Chania we will go there again.

Room Tip: We had room Olivia with direct access to the garden - that was super.

We stayed in this hotel in a 2 story suite for 1 night. The hotel is hard to find, but we made it, just in thime to check in and go for dinner. Since they only give you one key, you cannot go out and leave the airconditioning on, and when we got back at 10:30 the room was VERY HOT, but we figured it would soon cool down enough for us to sleep. By 11:30, it hadn't, and we called the desk, the woman came up to check that the controls were set right, but she said that it was too late for anyone to come fix it. Suggested we just open the windows and try to sleep. The room was probably about 85 degrees F at that point, so we opened the windows and tried to sleep, but it was not possible with the heat!

When I complained the next morning (when presented with a bill for 205 Euros, the woman at the desk (a different woman) said the previous occupant of the room did not say anything about the a/c not working (were they possibly not there when it was hot?) as if she doubted that it didn't work. She finally made a 25 Euro consession, hardly appropriate for losing a nights sleep and being very uncomfortable. The hallways were also very overheated, and that is the only place the wifi worked. I would avoid this hotel if possible!

My wife and I really loved this hotel. It's a fantastic location, steps from the harbor. Even better, the property is very interesting in design - an old monastery with modern and well-designed rooms. We stayed in the Santa Maria, which has a great view, but there is a roof deck if your room doesn't overlook the sea.

The staff is also great. They were helpful with arrangements (our airline lost our bags and they coordinated getting them back for us), made great recommendations on where to eat (and, perhaps more importantly, where to avoid eating) in Chania, and were just a pleasure. I'd certainly recommend this property to anyone visiting Chania.

When we arrived at the Monastery we were perplex about its beauty and well restored quality.
The full building was restored within it strong guidelines and perfectly upgraded with a very modern warm interior.
Also the rooms are very nice build and finished with lots of handcrafted details , (review by an interior designer).
There is also a sun roof which has a tremendous 360dgr view over teh city and sea; We could definitely live there!
We were received by Eva, a very warm, beautiful and helpful person :) She even wrote down all nice spots to see. Also the owners were very helpful and took lots of time to explain the city and helped us arranging cars, restaurants etc.
The breakfast was a carefully chosen mix between some Greek specialties and full american breakfast with every day a new speciality.

Definitely a place to go back to!

Best,
Jasper & Eva

We stayed here on March 25-26 during our port visit to Souda Bay, Crete. We had a group of 9 friends, so we rented 3 of the rooms on the second floor. The owners were incredibly friendly and helpful and made every effort to ensure we had everything we needed and all questions were answered. The views of the bay and city were amazing from all 3 rooms and the roof. The owner's plan on adding a jacuzzi to the roof which will be spectacular in the evenings. Cannot recommend this hotel highly enough if you're staying in the Chania area.

Room Tip: All three rooms we experienced on the second floor were spacious and soundproof. Room selection only...

What a beautifully restored hotel. So unique. A must experience! It's immediately by the harbor and you can still see the old monastery part of the hotel. It's tastefully decorated with modern twists! It's so charming. Each room is named after the nuns from the old monastery! The rooms are lofts; on two floors. So space is NOT an issue. You cannot but appreciate this incredibly luxurious hotel!
