“Average hotel - room with an amazing view!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 20, 2013

Before choosing this hotel we agonized a little over whether it was worth paying extra for a sea view room. We decided it was and were so glad we did. View from our balcony (room 110) was directly over the old harbour -you could sit looking at the postcard view that the cafes below are charging premium prices for. Absolutely unbeatable location. Cars can't drive up to the old harbour so taxi from airport took us to car park by fortress. Easiest way to reach hotel from there is to walk round fortress along harbour front - Loukia also spelt Lucia, also spelt Loucia, is easy to find from there., Hotel itself was clean but basic - air con worked well but rooms definitely not as nice as they looked online. Also a lot of noise from other guests in early hours that wasn't challnged by the staff. Overall, overpriced but worth it if you've going to spend some time relaxing on your balcony.

Room Tip: Room 109 had front view and was more spacious than 110

This hotel is one of the very rare cases of budget hotels in great locations. Situated right on the Old Harbor of Chania, you can virtually see the fish in the sea from your balcony! You'll be in the heart of the Old Town and just a few minutes walk from buses to the province. Tavernas and bars lie on your feet.
The sea-view rooms will make you look forward to waking up, as the first thing you'll see will be the sea and the sky. The side-street rooms aren't bad; you can still have a glance at life in the harbor from your balcony.
The rooms are decent for an economy hotel with good air-conditioning and sound-proof windows, which let you have a peaceful sleep even when nightlife in the harbor reaches its peak.
The staff are friendly and accommodating.
On the whole, this hotel is more than value for money, because of its location.

Room Tip: Choose rooms facing the harbor. All you'll see form the balcony will be sky and sea! Go for din...

It was too expensive in off season period. With the same price you could find seaside view with breakfast. The door was difficult to close, so it was better to lock it because sometimes opened with none to open it.
In the 2nd floor shower didn't have enough pressure.

We opted for the "economy" room, and that's what we got. You can't beat the location for being right on the old harbour, even if the cheaper rooms are very small & lack the view (ours overlooked narrow side street with taverna below) - and breakfast not included. Air conditioning is a plus in high summer & definitely needed to block out noise from below. The room had a small fridge, but there was only the single outlet, which means you had to unplug the fridge to use any other device. Hotel clean if old, lift a bit musty smelling. Service indifferent - staff not overly friendly.

Room Tip: If you're there for a bit of romance, go for the gusto and get a room overlooking the harbour.

If you get a top room facing the water, this is the place to stay. Breathtaking, affordable and near all the Chania Town action, we enjoyed our stay and did not find Hotel Lucia too noisy in the evenings. Staff were accommodating and flexible. The space is not large, so be prepared. The air conditioning was great and when I experienced a problem with the lock it was fixed in 2 hours. Felt safe, even though very central. We stayed during the high season in August as well. It's great value and sits right in front of one of the best restaurants called Xani.
Bring a beach towel.

Room Tip: Boutique-style hotel. Don't expect luxury, but everything you need and the view is worth it.

Ok it's not great.. the furnitures are old and the bathroom to.. But when i'am in holidays i just want to go home and have a sleep. What is more great than go home and stay at the balcony and overlook all the old harbour for a few minutes and after go to sleep? if you want quiet places you don't stay at the old harbour.. if you want silence you go to kaliviani,or falasarna or even better elafonissi

Hotel Lucia is a very poor hotel, with few comfort (tiny bathrooms, more like those of cheap budget indian hotels than like those of european guesthouses !), the beds were hard as stones, and as it is above restaurants so that you can hear the noise quite 24/24 and also smell the greasy greek food from your bed ! Only advantage: you are at 20 seconds walk from the venetian port, which is one of the most romantic place in Crete.

Room Tip: I doubt there are good rooms..
