We stayed at the Renieris hotel for two nights in October. The hotel was a little difficult to find at first but after a few wrong turns, we managed to locate it. Would have been much easier in the daytime. We got excellent service when we checked in. We were provided with lots of information and every question we had was answered. The clerk also gave us a map of Chania, highlighting places we should go and how to get there. Great service.
The room was basic but clean. There was no TV, which is no big deal during the day, because we weren't there. But it's nice to have something to watch at night when you're winding down before bed. The balcony off the room was huge and had a great view over the water.
Breakfast was pretty good. It was just a basic choice but more than good enough for the price. The fresh bread was delicious.
The location of the hotel is very secluded so there is very little noise from outside. However, the walls are pretty thin so you hear a lot of noise from inside the hotel. Luckily for us, the hotel was not very full at the time of our stay so it wasn't too bad but I would imagine it can get pretty noisy during high season. The doors to the room are the kind that tend to slam when you go in and out so when I was trying to get to sleep I kept hearing bangs. If you are a very light sleeper, it might be a good idea to bring earplugs. My boyfriend, however, is a deep sleeper and he didn't hear anything at all! It's a pretty minor problem but thought I'd mention it anyway.
Overall, I would recommend this hotel. It might not be great for very long stays but definitely a great value for short stays. We only paid 30 euros a night with breakfast and parking included! Can't beat it. And go have dinner at Maria's at the bottom of the hill if you go there. They have great food.
