“Should be called Model Museum”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed July 14, 2014

If you like model war ships go. If not give it a pass. It's not expensive but more a waste of time in such a beautiful city with so much to offer.

“Rather poor”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 26, 2014

This is a rather poor, old fashioned museem. I mean, that such a navy people like the Cretans, who travel all over the mediterrian for thousands of years, should have one (at least) more up to dated navical museem

“Never Seems to be Open!?!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed April 30, 2014

We visited the Maritime museum on the harbour's western side (which was just okay but worth it to access the adjoining Firkas fortress) but this companion place on the harbour's eastern side just never seemed to be open. We were in Chania for a week and walked past at least once a day and despite what the signs said it was always just shut-up. Pretty poor show - if it's closed, for whatever reason, then they really need to make that clear for visitors.
