“Great family location, great pools, great loaction”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

This is a well run, impeccably clean, well landscaped and organised collection of studios and suites. We had a two bedroomed suite with ample living/dining room and kitchen. We are well used to staying in apartments and studios having travelled with three children but at Corinna Mare we had a daily cleaning, bedmaking and new towels and bedding every 2-3 days- great. This was a superb location for three generations of family to stay. The facilities included a great unpretentious pool side bar, two great pools and a private jetting allowing easy swimming with some great snorkelling for first timers (2 x 8 year olds and a 5 year old). An absolute bonus is the fantastic Corinna Star restaurant on site (see separate review).
For those wanting to self cater there is a well stocked and friendly shop immediately opposite the reception. In the modern cool reception there is also a large library of books for swapping.
A great family location.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

To begin we are still here, we arrived on August 5 and we will be leaving august 31st. It is myself, my boyfriend and our 2 year old daughter. We rented a 1 bedroom maisonette, this is a living room with a couch, small kitchen table, flat screen tv, and a small kitchen area which consists of a stovetop with 2 burners and all the kitchen accessories you would need to be comfortable e.g., a coffee maker, tea pot, kettle, pots, pans etc. There are sliding doors in the kitchen area which lead to a small terrace which include a metal hanger and clips to hang your wet clothes. We have a separate bedroom with an amazing king sized bed, the most amazing, softest duvet, great pillows, flat screen tv, telephone, and a nice sized closet which fits my clothes and my bfs comfortably. We also have sliding doors in our bedroom which lead outside to the most spectacular view you have ever seen. The living room however (where our daughter sleeps) has no closet but that didn't bother us much because we are using the sofa to lay out all her clothes. This is a verrrry comfortable room.
The hotel has many style rooms to accommodate bigger families as well. This is a small hotel, which means walking from A to B is very convenient. There are 2 pools on the property, both deep but one of them has a small section blocked off for small children, my daughter is in there all day. From the pools the view is insaneeeeee, it is just out of this world, beautiful mountains, gorgeous endless sea. From the pool area there are a few steps you walk down and there they have set up a small pier and sun beds on the rocks with a ladder that gives you access to the ocean. It is quite gorgeous. Great snorkelling. We are in there all the time. Our room has an ocean view, and we are also next to the restaurant, so we literally hop over our balcony and have access to the 2 pools the restaurant and the ocean. If you can, and if you have children, the rooms with the ocean views are AMAZING. The convenience alone is priceless.
There is a bar that opens around 10;30 am, and closes late night. They make the most amazing freshly squeezed orange juice, the bartender Ari is just great, and the girl who works in the morning, natasha is a gem. Her daughter would come visit regularly and play with our little girl, such great people. The hotel is kept reallllly clean and is just immaculate. The area it is located in is just great, small supermarket across the street that has just about anything you need, pharmacy next door, and if you take a taxi you can go a little further up to inka supermarket which is massive. The staff that run this hotel are very professional and on top of everything. This is a family owned hotel and the owners are always here.
Now about the restaurant and the people who run it. Where to begin.. Mr Yiannis is the owner of this restaurant. Him, his two sons and his wonderful wife Stella run this place. They have a farm further out where they grow all the produce. Everything served in this restaurant is FRESH. NO LIE. He has a very nice menu, with many choices, also a kids menu. His prices are unbeatable. No joke. You can have 3 meals a day here and still stay within your budget. Stella, the wife makes all the jams that are served at breakfast fresh, I'm talking finger licking good. She makes all the traditional greek dishes as well. Moussaka to die for. Mr yiannis is such a wonderful man, he is always walking around, always recommending, always making sure you leave happy and with a full stomach, he is also very generous, always treating ice cream and fresh fruit, watermelon that'll have you dancing its so good. He never frowns when you want extra or different sides on a plate. He is there to accommodate you 100%. He runs a very tight ship. Iv been in the kitchen and it is very very clean, the chef, george is always in a chef suit. Customers are always asking to speak to the chef to give him compliments on how good his food is. Today i was sitting on my balcony and saw him walk into the ocean with flippers and snorkel in hand to catch the lobster. Just unbelievable. I have never had anyone anywhere give me the service that mr yiannis has given me and my family, we will miss him and his family dearly. I wish him the best of luck.
This hotel is super kid friendly, children everywhere, and the restaurant has booster chair and high chairs as well. I have to say that this place feels like its been blessed with a certain charm and calm that you don't find anywhere else, don't think we ever will. We have not felt this relaxed in years. We are robots back home, work long hours, and this place has brought back that joie de vivre.
corinna mare gets 5 stars from me.
Mr yiannis gets 5 stars from me.
We will be customers for life..

We spent a week here with children and grandparents. The rooms are tasteful, the setting beautiful - with a a rocky beach and a wooden jetty. The pools excellent. Above all the restaurant is fantastic, with great food, seafront tables and wonderfully friendly owners in Yannis and his wife. Warmly recommended.

Looking for a relaxing place to stay that is clean, family-friendly, quiet casual atmosphere?
Cannot recommend this place highly enough.

Friendly, good sized rooms, well-maintained gardens, bar by the pool for a beer in the shade whilst watching the kids in the pool (no rowdiness). Great half-board or flexible options at the adjoining restaurant meant to cooking or washing-up for a week :). A simple 3-course evening meal for €12.
Sunsets to die for.

We tried a nearby restaurant one night but the food wasn't nearly as good and they ripped you off by charging €4 for bread you didn't order.

Sea-view rooms are glorious - open the balcony door in the morning, lie in bed and listen to the surf. We are a family of 4 (kids are 12 and 8) who slept comfortably in the suite with 1 bedroom and then beds made up of a sofa-bed in the living area.

Supermarket opposite has all essentials.

Will definitely return!

Room Tip: Room 208 or 308: first floor overlooking pool and the sea. Large balcony.

This hotel was great! Spent 4 nights here of our 2 week Greece trip. Right next to the ocean!! They dont have a beach due to the rocky nature of the area but have created a nice deck with safe access to the ocean. Beautiful views, beautiful sunsets!!! The bed is ok-on the hard side, but not as bad as other hotels we stayed at. There is plenty of room in 1 king size studio. Friendly staff. We wish the receptionist took the time to tell us more about the areas around us as all of other hotels did that we stayed at after this place. Because of that, we missed out on some of the beautiful things on the west side of Crete! We did come here to relax and we accomplished that!!! There were tons of families here and it seemed like a perfect place to bring kids (kids were well behaved and that was never an issue for us without children). The restaurant at this place has good Dakos but that is about it. Service is horrible (the worst we had in all of Greece). We ate there 2 nights because of the beautiful sunsets and even when they were not busy, we had bad service. Our second dinner there we reserved a table on the deck-beauiful- but after we were sat, we remained there for 30 minutes before someone noticed us there (only noticed us because they put someone at the table near us) and then 30 minutes later were we given menus to look at. The first night there it took them 45 minutes to find our check and they gave us 3 different ones before they finally found ours. There is an Italian Restaurant across the street and a 1 minute walk away that was our 2nd favorite meal!!! Great salads, pizza and pasta!!!!!

What we liked about this place:
- Great people running the hotel and the restaurant
- Family atmosphere
- Pleasant accomodation (renovated recently), well-thought out equipment especially for cooking
- magnificent view on the sea
- access to 2 swimming pools and to the sea directly from the hotel
- bar and restaurant included in the premisses, very friendly staff, very good food at the restaurant (very fair value for money)
- very convienient location
- supermarket accross the street and another one 5 minutes away

Weaknesses:
- About the hotel and the location... nothing really, I just didn't like I had to leave this place!!!! ;-)
- Just be aware it may be windy in this part of the island and that might be a bit spoiling your sun bathing sessions
