Once you get past the bad designer fakes, there's a lot of good, local leather work available here.
There are a number of shops selling sandals, although make sure you try on lots of different styles in lots of different places to find a combination of straps that's comfy for your feet! The little local shops seem the best and most authentic, and also have great customer service even if you don't really have much language in common!
There are also some good belts to be had, particularly the hand plaited ones in natural colours.
It's just a fun place to wander through anyway, but do make sure you avoid all the bad fakes and support the traditional, local economy instead!
