“Late Arrivers”

Palazzo di Pietro

I really liked this hotel - big, cool, spacious room. Nicely decorated. Queen four poster bed. Christine is lovely - keen to please. Good location - side street so not to noisy but near to town.
My only complaint is that we could hear the guys in the room above - the wooden floors tended to seem a bit drum like. We were a bit lazy and liked to sleep in late - bit of a pain if upstairs were waking early. I'd consider a few more rugs/carpets or something similar to dampen sound - esp on the stairs.
Nice attentive staff, I'd definitely stay again but would ask for the room on the top floor.

My wife and I recently stayed here and found the whole experience delightful. The situation is perfect, right in the centre of Chania, five minutes from the harbour and all the restaurants, yet in a really quiet street and no passing traffic. Also ten minute walk to the bus station. The hotel itself is very nice with large rooms and a super roof terrace that is shaded and cool. What makes it special is the family who own it and the person who runs it, the famous Christine.
She is all that the reports say she is, cant do enough for you, contantly helpful, so much so that her private life suffers or is non existent. It is almost embarrassing how much she goes out of her way with advice and little kind gestures. This was our first visit to Crete and we couldnt have picked a better place. Go and try it, you wont be disappointed

This lovely boutique hotel has been praised to often that it's hard to add anything new. Suffice it to say that this hotel really is as good as it's cracked up to be. My wife and I had one of the rooms at the rear of the hotel for a week and it was like having our own apartment. One of the reasons we loved Chania so much as this hotel. Christine helped make it a memorable experience with everything from her father's wine, raki, and olive oil to decorating the bed as if we were Cretan honeymooners. This is a very special hotel that's conviently located and run by a very special person.

“Nice days in Chania”

Palazzo di Pietro

We are a Norwegian family who has just returned home from a one week holiday in Chania - nice weather, comfortable sea temperatures, pleasant surroundings, good restaurants - and not least the most excellent little hotel, with an exceptionally friendly and warm atmosphere. The entire family - my wife, our two daughters of 9 and 7 and myself - really did enjoy the spacious two-room suite in the narrow Agion Deka pedestrian street. We also had a small terrace facing the street, and could make use of the beautiful roof-top terrace as well. From our arrival until we left, the hostess Christine took really good care of us - having provided fresh fruit, soft drinks, wine and champagne in the fridge upon our arrival and having decorated the rooms and beds nicely with flowers as well. And always eager to inform and assist us. Conclusions: Really a nice hotel to recommend to all good friends and to come back to.

“An Incredible Boutique Hotel”

Palazzo di Pietro

Oct 10, 2006
5/5 found this review helpful

We just returned from a week's stay in Chania and knew from the minute we walked in the door of the Palazzo Di Pietro that we had made the right choice. It would be hard to even know where to begin raving about this place. Christine was everything and more than people have described in their reviews. She did everything possible to make us comfortable including letting us have our room long after check out time because of our late departure on the ferry. She is an incredibly busy woman and soon is going to eliminate her email address from her website because of all the problems it's causing her but the contact form wil be left in order that she can get back to those people with questions. The location in old town Chania was perfect for all that we wanted to do. Sitting out on the balcony and watching the people go by or listening to the music from the restaurant next door was very enjoyable, as was sitting out t here in the early morning listening to the church bells and watching the cats play. We were afraid it would be too noisy, but the heavy wooden doors closed out all the outside sounds. Our room was spotless and the fruit and champagne in the fridge was a very special touch. We would go back in a heartbeat.
