The Owners could not be more friendly and welcoming a real home from home. We were given V.I.P. treatment and made to feel as if we were the only people staying at the hotel. Would recommend this hotel to everyone. It is also in a great position, just across from the beach, and plenty of Taverna's for evening meals. It is also very easy to get either a taxi or the bus to Platanias or Chania for a change during the evening. We hope to go back again.

The hotel has new owners from Canada and they are really great. I give them 5 stars for service! The hotel has simple rooms, good beds, a nice garden with a pool and bar and the beach is nearby. The home cooking is excellent and cheap. So, if your looking for a hotel near Chania check this place out.

This hotel is fantastic. Great atmosphere, nice rooms, the sea and local taverns are very near. I love this place - cats in the garden and poolbar... And the owner is so handsome... :)

Having worked for nearly a year in Crete, I came across the Alkion Hotel near Chania, Crete.

I have stayed in many hotels across Europe and Crete, but simply found the Alkion to best the best.

This hotel is run by a local Greek family, Manolis and Stella being the main contacts.

Small and friendly with a perfect Greek atmosphere. The rooms are comfortable.

One or twice a week the hosts have a poolside BBQ, using all home made local delights. Including local fresh meat for the BBQ.

There is an inside and poolside bar, perfect for lounging in the hot Grecian sun. The sea is a 2 minute walk.

The hotel is perfectly situated off the main small road into Chaina and Platanias.

Hosts of the Alkion provide the perfect atmosphere, mum, dad, son, daughter and sister in law run the business.

Simply one of the best little hotels you will find.
