“Perfect wedding location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 24, 2012

We contacted Halepa Hotel asking if they could arrange our wedding (we live in Sweden). They where most helpful and arranged the best weekend for us and our friends and family.
We had contact with Kostas, the manager, and he help us via emails and phonecalls with the local authority, he fixed our catering, entertainment, decorations and transfers... Everything!
He even arranged so the vice mayor came and performed the ceremony.
The hotel is really romantic with warm welcoming staff who did their absolutely best to make our weddingweekend a memory for a lifetime.
We can truly recommend hosting a wedding at this hotel - or why not a romantic weekend!
We will definitely come back.

We stayed at Halepa Hotel for a week in early October of 2012, and would highly recommend the experience to anyone looking to experience something other than boilerplate hotel treatment. We upgraded to a room in the old wing of the hotel (the facade of the building you see in most pictures), and were thrilled to discover that the pictures don't really do it justice. It's better in person. The staff were exceptionally attentive to our every need and request. This is family owned and operated business at its Greek hospitality best. My one and only complaint is that the wifi signal seemed to die a sudden death the moment we crossed the doorstep into our room. Otherwise, everywhere else in the hotel - downstairs in the lobby/dining room/bar, upstairs on the terrace (a must see for the view and the sun), even in the foyer directly in front of the room, and even in the front courtyard, it was satisfactorily strong. Overall, we highly recommend the hotel, the staff, the location, the town, and the famous Greek hospitality spirit...

Room Tip: There are only a half a dozen or so rooms in the front, older, part pf the hotel - the wing that you...

The hotel is located in the suburb of Chania or around 15 to 20 mins walk to/from the old town. Highly recommend if you plan to rent a car as the parking lot is provided just behind the building. The breakfast is good with local style bread, variety of juices, omelette, fruits and pickle vetgetable ! The room is clean and very spacious. The building especially the decorations is fantastic, offering the magnificent feeling of imperialism. The surroundling is green and fresh. Most importantly, the staff was all friendly and professional especially the breakfast attendant who is never tired in recommending all the beautiful attractions to visit in Chania. We forgot to ask his name but he's really nice and freindly. Also, please do not hesitate to ask the reception how to get to one of the best local fish taverna in Chania "Thalassino Ageri".

This is a beautiful hotel. Rooms are large and comfortable. You can have a nice breakfast on the terrace . It is a 20-25 minute walk into the Venetian harbour, but with all the great eateries around, the walk does no harm. The staff are friendly and warm. The only thing I can find fault is the walls are thin.

Room Tip: There is a new section and old section. We were in the new section but I bet the old section is even...

We had 3 nights as part of a pelegrine tour. Formerly the British embassy this
fine old residence has been tastefully converted into a very comfortable hotel.
Checking out very early there was no issue in supplying a basic breakfast to see as through. A very pleasant courtyard in the front was ideal for coffee/drinks and a rooftop terrace was good for evening drinks to watch the Chania sunset.

Room Tip: A 25-30 minute walk into the old town was pleasant along the foreshore. Taxi's available for tho...

We spent only two nights at the Halepa Hotel, but the experience was excellent.
1) The availability, professional service at the front desk. We had a problem with the reservation and then a problem locally and they were very very helpful allowing to quickly solve both.
2) The structure is antique but with big rooms, air conditioned functioning properly
3) Greek breakfast was ok with fresh fruit and nice pastries. You can have breakfast in the garden.
4) The position is on the way to the airport, just outside the Old Town (15 min walking) with private parking
We will come back for sure sooner or later in Halepa hotel, classy and elegant refuge in Chania.

The staff were extremely helpful when we had problems getting to the hotel. They recommended restaurants and beaches, all of which were excellent. Our room in the main building was lovely with a sea view. They have a very quiet roof terrace and because my partner and myself like walking we had no problem trekking into the centre of Chania. There was a bus stop opposite if you needed it. We had a car and it was in a good position to get away to explore. Highly recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: There are a few rooms in the main building which are spectacular
