The view of the old Chania harbour is breathtaking...You must let your eyesight travel from one side to the other and as you walk along, you could pay Chalkina a visit! The restaurant, more likely a taverna, as a place is traditional but not really exquisite. The sound of traditional cretan music makes a difference and Rakomelo(a mix of raki-local alcohol delight-and honey) is more than plenty and way more than delicious....the wine list is big and you could try red, white or any other kind of wine! Now let's get to centerpiece product: food. Food was good but for some strange reason it couldn't top up my experience there.I went with a bunch of friends, we ordered 10 different dishes and what mostly stroke my attention was oven baked potatoes with thyme and lemon, beetroot salad with yoghurt and fried liver with olive oil and rosemary. The rest of the dishes were not that appealing to me...Prices were reasonable and it sure gathers many people mainly in the 20-45 age group.
