I just absolutely loved this hotel. The staff are exceptionally courteous and helpful. It is one of those small charming hotels you walk into and feel at once the old Venetian elegance of the place. Our room, No. 7, with a small balcony, had really high ceilings (like maybe 20 feet or something), beautiful view of both the harbor and tiny cobbled street in the other direction. They provided drinks (I think maybe ouzo?) on arrival. The balcony was beautiful, the bed clean and very comfortable, all sorts of lighting options (overhead, bedside). The bathroom was clean, the shower with two shower head options. The air conditioner worked very well as it was really hot. Overall, a very romantic hotel!
This hotel has the added bonus of being really close to the parking lot (the one near the fortress) so really only a 5 minute walk to the car. The old town of Chania is pedestrian only, so appreciated the proximity to the car lot.
The breakfasts were delicious. Previous reviewers commented on how you had to order the breakfast the day before-- they no longer do that. You just sit down and check boxes, and about 15 minutes later your specatularly delicious breakfast arrives.
The *only* issue with the hotel, and I think it's better at this one that others, is the noise from Chania late night partiers. By closing blinds/AC we could block out the noise, and being at the end of the harbor, it is further than other harbor side hotels (there is no club or anything underneath or even next door-- it is drifting noise from mid-way harbor restaurants and clubs).
