A relative who is a frequent traveller to Chania recommended us to pay a visit to Kouzina e.p.e. We actually paid 2 visits, as after the first one we wanted to come back! The restaurant serves a great variety of home-made food, but it also has a menu with food that can be prepared for you to order. The food tasted great, the staff was very friendly and helpful both times we went there and the atmosphere in the restaurant was very modern and cozy. While there, we realised that the locals prefer it. At the end of the meal they treat you with fruit or dessert and the local cretan alcoholic drink called "tsikoudia" or "raki". One tip for you: don't go to the restaurant too late, as the ready-made food may have been consumed. The restaurant opens around lunch time and closes at 19.30 (at least over the summer) and when, the second time, we went around 17.30 there was only 3 different ready-made dishes left (which were really good) and we also had to order from the menu. If you want to taste their whole variety, then go by 16.00ish. All in all, I would recommend a visit there!
