The first time we tried to dine here, the restaurant was full. We booked for the next evening as we'd read good things about it and knew that it was popular with Greeks. The food was really good. It's a meze restaurant and there are some fantastic local dishes on the menu. The Apaki was marvellous and anything that is served with Balsamico in Crete is a delight! It was busy again on the night we dined and the service was excellent right up until we wanted to leave!
As we were staying in the middle of nowhere, we wanted to catch the last bus. We timed our meal perfectly, and asked for the bill at 8:00pm. The bus wasn't until 9pm so we thought we had plenty of time. The usual complimentary Raki and watermelon came and went. But no bill. I asked again at 8:30m for the bill. After a third request, it finally arrived at 9:10pm. I wouldn't have minded if a) there wasn't a bus to catch or b) I had wine to finish, but there was nothing on our table for 50 minutes. 50! So when the bill came, they lost their tip as we decided to spend it on a taxi instead. Shame, because I really enjoyed the experience otherwise. Oh well. That doesn't take away from the fact it's a very good restaurant with excellent food and drink. Recommended. Just ask for your bill when you start your main courses :)
