“Paradise in Crete”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 10, 2012 via mobile

Few words can explain the experience at this place.
You have to try it by yourself to understand.
An extra plus to the location is the spa facilities and the kindness of all the personnel.
Keep up the good work!

We travelled to Crete in October 2012 to this oasis on tranquility. It was booked on the internet, thro a company in the UK Freedom Travel. I was sceptical at first because the price was good and the deal we got was even better. 5* for 3* money.

When we arrived we were shown the view, from a very ordinary meeting point. We were then taken to the bar/lounge area for a welcome drink. We still had no idea of our surroundings, such was the discretion and empathyfor the landscape this property(s) had. They were all built into the landscape on a hillside rising up from the sea.

We were told the room we had booked a Deluxe Sea View Room was not available, oh dear we thought this is not going well. We were taken by Golf Cart to a 2 storey property with its own pool, with the most magnificant sea view, no less than a villa *!*,. It had two bedrooms with the most enormous beds, 2 bathrooms and an extra toilet. There was fresh fruit, a mini bar, and complementary water. It was indeed luxury, and we were waiting for the catch. In addition to our own private facilities, there was an enormous infinity swimming pool, spa facilities with indoor pool and its own private beach. The view was to die for.

We were on a half board basis, and the service and the food in the restaurant was outstanding. There were 2 additional restaurants which you could eat in with the dine around programme.

But. the best is yet to come, everynight a lady came round and turned the bed down, put a card with weather forcast for the next day and a fresh rose.

The concept of this place was amazing, definitely 5* and luxury everywhere.

Room Tip: Upgrade your room, you maybe lucky as we were. All the rooms were in suites or blocks or in villas...

If you are looking for a holiday with hustle and bustle and a stream of bars for entertainment then this is not the destination for you
our purpose for for the break was a week in peace, swimming and nice food but at a high standard.. Daios Cover certainly delivers

On arrival we were greated by the "red Carpet" by julia the host with some hot towells to freshen up and then taken to a glass walk way that leads on to a balcony over looking the cove whilst formalities of checking in were taken care of.
Wow what a beautiful setting
The hotel is built all along the cove and overlooks the sea and the private beach and infinity pools
we were upgraded straight away to a 2 bedroom villa which truely was perfect, to get about the resort there are golf buggies with the lovely staff happy to take you to and from your rooms and to the main part of the hotel, they were a quick call away and i have to say was very good fun
My main concern (being a mother with a toddler) was the private pool, before I even said anything our host advised me that maintainence would be straight round to put a safety fence all around the pool, what excellent service.
The villa was split level with a lovely terrace and loungers, lounge and king size bedroom and then upstairs was a superking size room with terrace and huge bath
maid sevice daily and turn down service
The half board (which im not a fan of usually) truely was 5*, themed evenings with everything from sea bass - squid - steaks and lamb cutlets, thats if you can pass the deserts
because we were in a villa we got a special part of the restaurant which was lovely

The grounds are well manicured and pretty, entertainment was at a minimum but if im honest we were a week before the resort closes so i expected this
We put our 21month old in to the child creche and was run extremely well by english/scottish girls and our little boy loved it, we decided to take the opportunity to go to the spa and have treatments (well worth it)

The staff at this hotel exceeded on customer service but certainly not over the top, they were a pleasure to chat to and could not do enough to make your stay even better
I can not exaggerate enough the gorgeous setting this hotel is situated in and throughly enjoyed our week here.
We did also hire a car and is a great way to see the island

What I will say also is we were on a family holiday and made to feel very welcome with the child clubs too but also the hotel was not too obvious with it so if you are looking for a honeymoon location or a couples holiday equally this place delivers, contempary furniture, boutique shops and cocktail bar, without children running around spoiling your peace and quiet

I have given the hotel an average score on location, solely because it is a get away from it all location, not for those wanting to be in the centre of attractions etc

Stayed there for 3nights with my family..The architeture of the hotel is one of a kind.We had a double standard room with the greatest view ever..The balcony doors are that big and when you wake up the first thing that comes to your eye is the enormity of the blue sea..Really relaxing, considering that every room has a good balcony with sofas and chairs so you can enjoy the setting..The room more than great its one of the biggest that wehave ever stayed clean comfortable with a 5 star sleep quality.Housekeeping always available and room service food was excellent. Breakfast unforgettable and the best sea you can immagine. The main pool is rather small but frankly you dont even think of using it with this sea , and bay and dont forget that most of the rooms have their own pool (although ours didnt)..So if you can afford the cost dont think it twice just go and enjoy your holiday..

We have just got back from Daios Cove in Crete and for the first time since we have had our son, we all truly had the most amazing holiday mostly due to the Children's club. The actual resort was amazing, beautiful scenery, gorgeous suite with terrace, ample and delicious food ( and I am an extremely fussy eater) but there is something for everyone, excellent and friendly service. I really couldn't find fault with this beautiful resort. But what truly made the holiday was the Children's Club that they have on site. On all our previous holidays a broad, I have never left my son in a Children"s Club either due to it being inadequate in my option or my son not wanting to stay in one. This time was soooo different. The children's Club is run by the Worldwide Kids Company, and all the staff are British. The facilities were great, the staff were friendly, flexible and informative and great with the children. They give you on arrival a weekly timetable of events so you can pick and choose what activities your little ones would like to do. i.e 10 - 11 am football, 11 - 12 am model making etc. My son loved it and didn't want to leave. he was doing full sessions by the end of the week which is 7 hours a day. 10 to 1.00 and 3 to 7. This allowed my husband and me to have some much needed down time. We came back for the first time feeling that we really have had a break. Thanks so much to Lisa, Emma and Viv. 1st class club.

We have just returned from a vist to Daios Cove a really chill out holiday we found the staff very helpful and always polite nothing was ever to much trouble the room was very spacious with a beautiful view from the balcony and it was kept immaculate the spa area and gym with the indoor pool was paradise a view to die for from the indoor pool
The beach and pool area was amazing and the attendants where excellent supplying towels and keeping the whole area tidy. The lift up and down to the beach was a bonus the lounge areas where very comfortable as were the outside bar areas the dining room was excellent for breakfast and dinner it was a buffet style with amazing food and the choice was unbelieveable
The resort is a little isolated but you can easily get to Agious Nickolaus by taxi booked by reception they were there in a couple of minutes 10 minute drive where you find a very pretty village around the marina even though we did not go until the middle of October the weather was in the 80s
We would hope to return to this beautiful resort

Room Tip: We where situated on Street 3 easy acess to all areas with sea view facing up the cove
